Heading to Hermanus

Hi guys
I'm from PE and will be heading to Hermanus for the upcoming school holidays.
We'll be staying with Skoonma, so I plan on hitting the road a fair bit.
Not knowing the area at all, I was hoping to get some advice on nice / safe road and/or gravel spots to try.

Thanks in advance!

You have three options

Ride out to Stanford on the new road, that now actually has a shoulder. Mostly flat

Ride out to Caledon on the Hemel en Aarde Rd, mostly rolling hills.

Ride out to Botrivier, with the option to  then turn off at Kleinmond.

You can also go out to Stanford and then Caledon and then back via H&A.

If you want to do road rides. I reccomend the new stanford road. It gets a bit busier after 9 so try and do the ride earlier when it's very quiet on that road. Betty's Baai/kleinmond road is also an option and karwyders tar road also. Gravel: karwyderskraal road to hemel en aarde Valley and also gravel road from the karwyders tar road to  gabrielskloof restaurant. Pm me your number and I'll add to to our cycle group. They do road rides almost everyday.

If you have any inclining towards trails ..... please do yourself a favour and rent a bike and do the Hermanus Trails.

Road gravel mix .... Out on the Hemel and Aarde road, turn left at the dam (just after the steep climb).  The gravel road takes you Karwyderskraal tar road, left again and tar back via Hawston and Onrus.
