45mm Cinturatos are probably the best size for most types of riding...no point going narrower since the rolling resistance will be the same ...the only saving will be on a bit of weight but comfort will be very different

Asking about 40 vs 45mm:

You will roll slightly faster on road.

You will be less comfortable off road and perhaps slower off road.

You will have greater mud clearance.

And all of this depends on air pressure :).

(I have copied in a few Youtube clips above. From all of Ben Delaney and Dylan Johnsons advice, it seems that for Gucci gravel / tar, 40-42mm seems to be the sweet spot. For rougher rocky / corrugated gravel, 45-47mm seems to be good (at lower pressures).
