Cross Cape info

Hi Cyclists 

Need help please. Have spent hours trying to find sources for printable maps and info on which GPS app to use that would be best for cycling the Cross Cape routes with no success 

The Cross Cape websites talks of ' maps' but have had no success in downloading 

Any guidance would be appreciated

The website really isn't great as a source for the route/maps. I did it in 2023 and these are the daily gpx routes that I mapped:

Download the Ride with GPS app, the route is part of their base routes stored by previous users. I used it to navigate me through the entire route.

They used to have a downloadable .pdf map.
I managed to get it a few years ago, but its 50Mb, so I don't think that I can share it here.

Some of the stage endings seem to be not at specific BB or stay over places..

Do they actually end at sleepover spots?

The overnight spots are wherever you get a booking.
They are not set or official places.
You would then adjust your navigation accordingly.

Hi, i am planning on doing this ride in October. Can you advise which accommodation establishments you used on your ride. thanks

Booking.com has a function where available accommodation that meets your criteria is shown on a map and I found spots that were as close as possible to my route. I didn't want to ride across town to get to my B&B, and then ride back again the next morning to get back onto my route. 

This is obviously a bigger issue in Oudtshoorn, George, Knysna and Plett which are quite spread out compared to Greyton, Swellendam etc.

We were a group of 11, so chose places that could accommodate us all, but most of them have options for fewer people too. I would stay at all of these places again, they were all great
