Onetime - is going to be good to meet. Hopefully some of the others will be around to. Have some drinks (tea, coffee, beer whatever) in Stellies after.

Beware of carrying old tubes!

I once got a snakebite 20km from civilisation (in a game reserve) and found that my spare tube had perished and my patch glue had dried out.

A 6km pushabike walk/hike to an accessible road and a cellphone saved my sorry ass.

Lesson learnt.......

The derailleur hangers are different for different bikes (even models within the brands as well as the same models with different years .....). Make sure you order the one for your frame!

Ouch

Yikes - so I need to get hold of Mr Crow to find out about Mr TitusRacerX bits and pieces.

LOL

Sean, if I didn't know that you were an MTB original from the early '90's I may have taken that comment literally.....

Just a point - if you are changing from tubeless to tube in a race - check for existing thorns in your tyre first, else you will then have a very short ride. Often with tubeless you have many thorns in your tyre, so run your hand around the tyre before putting back on - this can be difficult if the latex has got dry on the inside of the tyre

Yep, I just know a non-cyclist reading that would've had the wrong picture in their mind... Agree with you though, shrubber, spare tubes should be checked every couple of months cos they tend to perish or get damaged somehow. Rather find out while watching the TdF stage in your lounge and sipping Merlot than in the middle of nowhere when you've lost your sense of humour and maybe even your sense of direction...
