Road cycling Entry bike: Avalanche, Titan, suggestions?

I've been using a MTB for the last 9 years but I'm looking to hit the road with an eye on Ironman. Looking for a good entry level road bike. Scared to go too cheap but don't want to waste too much if I'm still primarily on the MTB

Please share best suggestions!

Thanks... I'm not looking to win the thing... Just looking to complete it as cost effectively as possible

I have a friend that have done a couple.  Even managed an age group podium in Mosselbay.

 

Seeing the equipment over the years ....

A decent mid-spec bike that does not break the bank would be the Titan Valerian Carbon Elite. Shimano 105 all round, carbon rims with formula hubs shouts makes it a good mid-range option.
