It has been a while now since I noticed that my elevation in rides is not adding up. Previously when my wife and I rode the same route same time there was a few meters difference between her Garmin 530 and my Garmin 830.

We rode together yesterday again and noticed a huge difference in elevation. Her 530 indicates we climbed about 354m and my 830 indicated only 194m. Also noticed the climbing gradient is not well on a slight incline that should read about 2% the Garmin indicates that I'm descending with a reading of -3%.

Anyone experienced this issue before and a possible solution?

Currently experiencing the same with my 530.

Done all the "tips and tricks" as per google. No luck.

My elevation is always out compared to friends riding the same route.

I use Strava Elevation Correction to get a better indication of the elevation, but that is only after the ride.

During the ride i just enjoy the ride.

Hi there I know it's a pretty obvious suggestion and in no way want to sound offensive..but have you set your altitude correctly i know when I set up  mine .. You had to set it at your current altitude. 🙃..mine doesn't read altitude on a certain section in Silvermine reserve..if you climb enough it adjusts but if you turn around in that area it just doesn't give you the elevation..which I would guess to be satelight connection issue. Hve a good day Howard.

I have stood in the ocean to set the altitude correctly....
I am now looking at opening it up to get to the ports/holes to see if that helps

I've had a similar issue with the grade showing incorrectly. As mentioned above it's linked to the barometric sensor hole getting dirt in it. Seems like a pretty piss poor design for a device meant to be used outdoors!

After cleaning it mine has returned closer to normal but is still very slow to change grade.
