Anyone welcome!

We'll leave from PE at around 7:00 and park the cars at Kabeljous resort and start riding from there at around 8:00 - those who don't want to do the whole distance can turn around whenever they want to, but the goal is to ride to Heroncliff and back... OR to Gert's house and back... same distance...

Need a refilling station for my one water bottle :P HAHAHA

My number is 084 517 1336

When do we get details of the finish location for TB?

I really hope it's easy to find as I sometimes get lost going home in the evenings.

The finish is at Mentorskraal - it is on the road that links central Jeffreys to the N2, quite close to the N2.  I am not sure how they will take the road to get there.  They can either stay right at the Jeffreys/Humansdorp split (where a lot of people got lost last year) and stay all the way on this road to the Hankey/Humansdorp road.  When you turn left on this road, you pick up a gate about 1.5km on the right side.  This is a dirt road that goes under the N2 and ends close to Mentorskraal.  If they keep it like in the past and continue left at the split, one will still end at Zuurbron for cp 6 - from there you will still pass cp 7 as in the past, but once on top of that small little bastard of a climb (although they have filled in this road), instead of going left, you can continue straight and link onto the same dirt road that goes under the N2 to Mentors (I think this is probably the most likely).  The last option is to continue as in the past all the way down to the tar road, but instead of turning into Jeffreys stay on the old Humansdorp Jeffreys road (will be a bastard of a climb at the end of 230km), get to the new traffic circle, go right around it and end up at Mentors.

No suspension?!  Wow' date=' or rather why?  Just to be light?[/quote']

Was wondering about that as well. I can appreciate the all out thing for weight but then why disc brakes???

Because v-brakes mess up nice wheels. I did 95km on the rigid yesterday and it was a breeze... no stiff wrists or anything today... my max speed was 70km/h on this downhill... The biggest fallback is less traction on fast bumpy corners

They do?....ok if you say so.

To bad then for all the roadies and their nice wheels...or cyclocross guys where mud and grime get's onto the braking surface etc.

Nice bike thought.

Well... I'm not a roadie... AND... I'm here to see what all my previous V-brake rims look like...

I used to say I will never change to disk brakes because my vbrakes stop me wherever I go... but I'm tired of spending money on expensive wheels just to have it look like crap a few months later...

The Rigid is not really a weight thing... it only saves 560g over my sid... it's more of a maintenace thing...
