Rook, Dust or Switch?

Hi all. I’m looking for some advice on pros and cons of the following bikes:

Rook Scout

Avalance Dust

Titan Switch (limited alloy)

They are all retailing for close to the same amount (with specials). I like the steel frame of the Rook. Switch seems to have the best components and a carbon fork.

Stretch that budget a little sideways and you could put the Silverback into the equation. CycleLab have a special on them.🤛🏻

Hi @betaboy. Silverback Siablo fits in the budget perfectly. Were you referring to the Silverback SE?

Another question - most of these are 1x. Titan is 2x.
 

For 1x11, isn’t 40 front and 11 back hectic on steep climbs? I had 1x11 34 front 11-42 rear on Giant Anthem and whent to 2x. I couldn’t make it up Montague pass anymore.

If you're interested in steel frame options, my Specialized Sequoia Elite (56/L) will be going on the market in mid-Jan. Steel frame, carbon fork, Shimano 105 2x with hydraulic brakes. DM me and I can share more details.

Personal opinion, the Rook is a bit on the chunky side, plus mechanical disc brakes (I think?), Sensuh groupset (are spares easily available?)..

My GF is riding a TR Switch, carbon version & I upgraded it to hydraulic brakes, it's been a great buy.
