Event Name: KAP sani2c nonstop
When: 30/05/2026
Where: sani2C - Glencairn Farm, KwaZulu-Natal
Category: Mountain Bike

Registration is 29 May, riders start at 2am on Saturday 30 May and cut-off is 24 hours later - 2 am on 31 May.

A 24-hour cut-off, teamed mountain bike marathon event with a difference, the sani2c nonstop is a point-to-point ride. Starting at the base of the Sani Pass and finishing on the shores of Scottburgh beach, it covers a total distance of just over 250 kms, which must be completed within 24 hours.

The event is designed for true adventurers who will enjoy the challenge of riding and navigating their way over most of the iconic sani2c route, but in one push, not over three days. The route traverses varied and contrasting terrain, over hills and through valleys with spectacular scenery. Created by a family of passionate mountain bikers who actively compete in endurance events themselves, it will test and reward riders who love the challenge of adventure and competition.

One of the things that makes the sani2c nonstop extraordinary is its format. With each team comprising either two, three or four cyclists. Riders then have the option to be unsupported or to have a support crew and one vehicle. It is a true test of partnerships, endurance and commitment, with the emphasis on team effort and cooperation. To compete, you will need a great team with excellent orientation skills, heaps of stamina, brilliant night lights and a vibrant spirit of adventure.

Arguably different markets but Race to the Sun, Berg and Bush 2 Day and NonStop Sani all on the same weekend.

I know it’s the best time of year for racing but it would be so lekker if organisers tried to fit around each other better.

The original date was 19-21 June, no interference with any other major races. Not sure what prompted the change of dates but I agree, it will dilute the field

which is a huge pity considering we don't have that many big races left north of the Orange river.

I chose Sani2C Nonstop over R2TS as riding at night (even for only few hours) is for me the ultimate mtb experience.

It can be a huge challenge choosing dates for events as there is such a busy MTB calendar in South Africa, as well as other events that sani2c riders also take part in - riders are spoilt for choice!

In the case of sani2c nonstop, we have four of our key event team members running the Comrades Marathon that 19-21 June weekend (our team's involvement and experience in endurance sports is what makes our events the quality events that they are, but sadly this created a significant clash for us as organisers).

It was a tough decision and we look forward to hosting those who can make the weekend of the 29-31 May. The trails will be in great condition having had the sani2c 'OG' and Adventure riders through just a few weeks before.
