Does anyone have any history with extending (building up) a Integrated seat post?

I recently bought a bike and the previous owner was a bit shorter than I am, and cut more off the ISP than I can make work.

My question being, does anyone know where and if I can have the post built up by 40-50mm so I can get the perfect height setup for my length?

Or maybe some other options

Bike is a Giant TCR dura-ace model

Thanks in advance

I had an extension done, was a quite a few years ago, it was ok for a few months but then started 'seperating'

It was repaired with a bit of an 'insert' so at least the whole seat thing wouldn't just fall off .... my son, shorter than me, now rides that frame

Just my experience, others may have been luckier?

Have you considered getting a longer seat mast cap? . You might want to check a Trek store to see what they have available or if they can order it for you. If you know someone with a CNC machine, you could create a 150mm aluminum extension that inserts about 100mm into the mast and extends 50mm outward. Epoxy it into the frame, and you can use your mast cap as usual.

As far as I know the "longer" mast cap is already on the bike, but I will be sure to check the Trek store

As for the CNC aluminium idea, I will look into that, seems pretty genius

Are Trek and Giant ISP the same 🤔

I believe that ISPs have standards similar to those for seat posts, but I may be mistaken. The vast majority of Trek bikes come with an ISP, so they should carry a few options for mast caps. Several aftermarket brands, like Ritchey, offer mast caps, and they all seem to adhere to a set range of sizes and shapes.

The 100mm insert will have the frame inner ID, and the 50mm top will have the frame's outer OD, ensuring a flush finish with the frame. Additionally, you can drill and mill out the core to make it a bit lighter.
