hi, hubbers...

i am looking for a value for money cycling computer... i have stumbled accross the XOSS 2nd Generation G/G+ , XOSS NAV+ and Blackbird BB18 thay's fairly affordable...

any advice and comments on these from hubbers that are using these or other models...

I have had my XOSS 1st Gen unit for 5-6 years. It is basic, BUT it does these basics very well and consistently so.

Battery life is still remarkable. Cons are 1)no Windows support to run on a PC(mobile app. only) and 2)Rather small screen. Speed display is good, but Distance, Elevation, Ride time etc is very small.

In a nutshell, XOSS is a solid brand.

My experience ....

I went and check, that is a cc700 for that price of R2076.33. The CC700 Pro is R2900.

Gerlash, thanks for pointing out that mistake i made, corrected it... looks like the main difference between the normal and pro version is IPX7 waterproofing, better quality manufacturing and message notification and obviously software version differences i assume...

Actually got a bit more then that. Got more memory,  it's touch screen, got maps and some more stuff. Here is the info I pulled quickly:

The Geoid CC700 Pro is a significant upgrade over the standard CC700, featuring a 2.8-inch color touchscreen, 8GB storage, map-based navigation, and DJI Action camera control, whereas the standard CC700 uses 3-button control. The Pro model enables 1000km route support compared to 300km on the base model.

Key Differences Between Geoid CC700 and CC700 Pro
  • Interaction: The Pro model features a smooth touchscreen, while the standard CC700 is controlled by 3 buttons.
  • Navigation: The Pro features interactive map navigation (view routes in detail), while the standard version features basic route navigation.
  • Storage: The Pro offers 8GB of storage (allowing for more maps and data), whereas the CC700 has 100h of data storage.
  • Functionality: The Pro supports DJI Action 4/5Pro camera control, which is absent on the standard model.
  • Routes: The Pro supports longer, 1000km single routes; the CC700 supports 300km.
  • Data Density: The Pro features detailed information display for smart notifications.

The question is, what is included with that price at amazon? The price of the unit went up in the last 2 months. I paid in Jan R1545.77 for the full packed, that was a bike mount, 2 sensors and Hr sensor with strap. If you take that option now it will be R2209.64.
