Driving down Old Main Road in Hillcrest at 5:45 this morning, I passed a group of about 12 cyclists. The four guys at the back of the bunch had absolutely no lights at all! It just boggles my mind that people would put their lives at risk like that, especially after the publicityof the recent incidents in Durban. You have to assume that these are educated(?) people. Got a couple of those tossers in PE as well. They have the mentality that the other guys in the bunch carry lights which they'll just leach off of.

 

Pardon me, but I didn't spend R4000 on a big light so that others can sit behind me and enjoy it.

Nothing surprises me any longer after what I've seen over the last few weeks from the little brain matter some cyclists have. I am out there training & trying to look after myself by donning lights & bright clothes & making myself as visible as possible etc..All that matters on that road out there is myself not stressing over another stupid idiosyntric cyclist who has NO REGARD FOR HIS OWN SAFETY -
