my mate / colleague (I haven't decided yet) took a tumble on the spruit ride this morning.

 

He's slurring his words a bit - we think he's okay though as this is quite normal.

Interesting how helmets always seem to break at the back like that.  Mine broke in a similar fashion when I last wiped and a friend has also broken two helmets in the same place.  Maybe its when you like to land on your head...

Helmets are meant to break!  That's what they are there for!  I managed to do a full flip at Krakadouw and landed on my head and airbag (Camelbak).  The helet took the blow and I thought it felt a bit loose afterwards.  I got to the end and saw it had cracked all the way through.  My body was sore and in shock for days, but my head 100%.  The stuff works

Never go without that lid I tell you. I once dropped in the mountains of Napier and I will never forget how the helmet sounded like an eggshell breaking. My 1st thought was that I've got a head like an egg.
