Is it just me or are the organisers for the Cycle Challenge wasting our time by putting a deadline out there because on monday night i rushed back to work to enter at 3min to 12 because i was going to miss out on doing the race if i didnt enter before 12

and Lo and Behold i look at the news Feeds on the hub this morning to find out that the deadline has been extended

this happens every year why dont the organisers just set the deadline to the 30th september everytime instead of messing us around by making us stress about doing it before payday in the middle of september smiley7.gif smiley7.gif

i didnt search if this was already covered so please dont flame me if it already has been addressed

Not flaming you, but yes, was discussed under thread asking if 94.7 was too expensive.

I agree with you, and see entries have not broken the 23000 mark yet.

You have got to be kidding! You rushed back to work to enter before midnight because you thought they would not accept your entry if you didn't. This despite telling us in the next paragraph that they extend the entry limit date every year.

It costs a little more, but know this: Barring a couple of high-profile MTB stage races, you can enter just about every cycle race in the country right up to the day before the race. Okay, so you might not get a free T-shirt and a goodie bag, but really, are those things important?

And yet after cut off there's a flood of people looking for entries and paying more for substitutions.

also i do not want to pay the extra R100 for a late entry i could barely afford the entry of R245 smiley11.gif

As HR says' date=' the more money they can get earlier the more interest that earn on it, thats why they encourage people to with early bird prizes. [/quote']

bit fuzzy, but i seem to remember getting 8% or so on R100 000. been a very, very, very long time since a had that sort of bank balance without one of these "-" signs in front of itCry

i see your point Sean but with any Pick your pocket Sponsored Race you Pay R100 late entry fee which really does mess with the budgetturtlek2008-09-17 05:59:39
