thanks, for correcting my shocking spelling, the advice and the luck.

It isn't on sports or language. It's on invasive alien grasses in the cape. In case you cared, or were interested. Sadly my interest and care are fast disappearing.

Swazi, Durban poison, malawian cob and "rooi baard" from what I understand are brought in from up country as apposed to the "jat" you can buy here locally.

I hope that helpsThumbs%20Up

Good luck on your thesis and if you want pain and suffering watch rugby!

Respectfully, I don't think that should be the focus here.

We all love our country (I hope,) so we should all be happy that our national teams are doing well, and also to understand that even though you may not like or agree with things in some sports, you can respect that lots of other people do.

Yup, I was just a bit confused with colonel's point of view about why he doesn't like to follow rugby or cricket whilst the same stigma (if not 100 times worse) surrounds cycling (unless he hates cycling?)

Maybe it was this thread that sparked my interests to read up more on the nutritional benefits of Spirulina...eek! time to go ZZZZZZzzzzZZzz! as I am not contributing anything to lift the mood.

How am I doing? Writing nasty thesis. yuck yuck yuck. cant wait to hand in and start being a serious full time athelete. OK semi serious. hooray for heaps of pain and suffering.

Hopefully you are very close to finishing that nasty thing! Wink

I did some "light" research into alien vegetation a few years ago when the local government gave notice to start eradicating the alien vegetation in the reserve next to my parents property.

What spurred on this sudden interest was the fact that the alien vegetation just happened to be just about every tree on the hill / reserve. I felt that the trees were far more picturesque and added atmosphere to the area. Even though the tress had been there for years and quite sparse in comparison to the Fynbos, the municiplaity felt that the Fynbos was at risk and went forward and removed the trees. Cry

Learning about the whole ecological cycle was very interesting, but like I said, it was light research. I doubt I would survive your thesis. But I have no doubt someone (hopefully many) will find it very interesting reading.

Colonel...please go out and ride your bike.....HARD!!!! (looks like you need some fresh air) SA rugby/cricket always have their bad patches, but there is no need to complain about the passed weekend's results (personally i think they did really well!) and afrikaans is here to stay. full stop

Rest day today, not riding. But ofcourse its here to stay no one else wants the language and our rugby/cricket players aswell cause no other nation wants them on their teams!! HAHA. Im not complaining about passed weekends results atall I didnt even know they played until I watched the news and I dont care when they play again to be honest I will still sleep well on my expensive silk pillows!

Go take a long hard think about other peoples views on the world they dont have to be the same as yours and if I think something sucks then I'll say it out loud unlike alot of other people here who go with the flow to fit in and be liked. I have 2 feet and I stand on them and followers never win or lead.

Hey SARA....the Hub is suppossed to be where you come to FORGET about work, a place for relaxation, a home away from home where you are welcomed with Hugand made to feel special and cared for and loved. Let's not talk about work, please Big%20smile

Minty, I love my "work". actually. I get to play in the bush, identify plants, measure stuff (ride my bike whenever I feel like it). Play the crazy plant chick... 2 years of flexi-time. awesome. Now to figure out nexte years work avoidance agenda. hmmm.

Friend of mine actually worked with invasive aliens here in Hermanus. Sort of coordinated a pilot project i think about 5 years ago. Unfortunately she ended up spending more time doing presentations and/or paperwork in the office than outside. Bummer!

Enjoy the flexi-time. She's currently doing her phd AND working an 8-5 job. Don't see much of her anymore! Wacko
