Doesn't the 'reserve' work on a % basis rather than heart beats? Makes more sense to me. So somebody with a min. 40 and max. 180 = 140 reserve would be better off than somebody with min. 60 and max 205 = 145 reserve.

Thanks Guys, all I can say is that I am now totally confused.

It appears as if I am so far off the mark in all respects. I think i should take up Carboloading professionally. That is the simple carbohidrates, the ones in little green and brown bottles.smiley36.gif
