Hi All

I'm planning a group ride for Sunday the 12th of October.

The plan is to leave the Douglasdale Total garage at the corner of Leslie and

Douglas Drive at 8am, Woolworth's side of Leslie. Anyone keen on joining let

me know.

Pace will be relaxed and hopefully we can find a spot to get a cup of coffee

on the way back.

Regards

Mark

sounds good, but 8h00 is unfortunately too late for me.. you might find that most people are going to be at Crater Cruise too.

Yup would have joined you but long Crater Cruise (race) on Saturday followed by short Crater Cruise (cruise with friends) on Sunday.

I could join, will ride there from my place! We can do breakfast at the Sandton Field & Study center - there is a coffee shop.

That sounds like an excellent idea. See you then.

You think it may be more convenient for people to meet in Bryanston somewhere instead of Fourways? Either way, it's not too far to the Bryanston entrance.

I've got a small group coming from 4ways / Douglasdale, hence the meeting place. However we could also hookup at the low level ridge down at the bottom of Grosvenor Road at about 08h30 if that works better for you?

Mark' date=' when you say relaxed pace......

As fast as the slowest rider will allow. There are at least two girls coming with, I think one is a beginner.

BTW - If you don't have a taker on that shock, please let me know, I'm interested.

Are they hot? I mean, what are you trying to say huh? That chicks can't ride fast? Tongue

I'm cool with meeting at Douglas & Leslie. I didn't know you arranged a group from there, just thought if there's pople coming from all over it may be easier to meet in Bryanston. Woolies side is by the Swiss Inn right?

Right, so who's in? I may be coming down with the flu, but I'm going to drug myself PROPERLY tonight. If I'm not there by 8, please leave without me.

So far.

Me with my banged up knee.

My neighbor with her new Anthem.

Someone from a local MTB news group.

Possible KDEE, although alcohol abuse may intervene.

Possibly one or two others that I invited.

Mark & Co, just a suggestion, why not ride out South and join us at the Race for Victory MTB ride. Only 30 kays and you can enjoy the festivities afterwards.

Myself & a few others are really gonna make it a training ride and I will live up to my new name 'Captain Slow'!

Thanks Shaun, however I've been wanting for a while to set-up a regular weekend social ride from Fourways / Douglasdale this was the first opportunity.

There is an elegant simplistic beauty to getting up on a Sunday jumping on a bike, meeting some friends (old and new) and going for a fun ride, leaving the gas guzzler sitting at home in the drive way. Wink

Also I can't do the social thing in a race environment. As soon as it starts I end up with a heart rate of 190 and it only slows after I cross the finish line.
