TCC members,

 

 

 

It is with deep disappointment in our traffic situation that I send you the mail this morning. Be very cautious when you are on your bike in the traffic.

 

 

 

Sadley Magriet Zeelie was knocked down by a Putco bus from the back on Saturday @ 06:20 while riding back home on her MTB. She is stable currently and will not have major long term negative effects due to her breaks.

 

 

 

A few things I learnt from this situation were :

 

1) Never ride without a helmet (her helmet is completely cracked, but her skull was saved)

 

2) Never ride in congested bus / taxi traffic on your own (you become a target that can not be protected from the back)

 

 

 

3) Always let someone know where you are (family, friends and the club members)

 

 

 

May Magriet have a speedy recovery and be back on the bike soon. I will miss my partner on the tandem for a while.

 

 

 

To the others that still recover from previous injuries and falls : Tersia, Dou, Wayne, get well soon and may you be back on your bikes soon as well.
