Talk about keen. Those hand cycles require a lot of conditioning to complete 9.47km, never mind 94.7km! And with only a month to go... My advice would be for your friend to just wait until next year's event and do it on a regular bike.

My advice would be for your friend to just wait until next year's event and do it on a regular bike. i did a bit of googling on it this morning. it's hectic stuff. he's not the kinda guy you can hold back.
