While I was away this weekend doing my share for fellow cyclists at the Telkom Classic I was unwittingly having my possessions at home redistributed to the formerly disadvantaged.AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

They broke into my wendyhouses (yes both!!!) and cleaned me out again, for the second time in 2 months. After unsuccessfully trying to break open the door of the first wendyhouse they went around the back and broke the side of the wendy open and then proceeded to do the same with the other

After the first break-in I fixed planks to the floor with 3" nails in. I can only presume this break-in happened during the day as there is no blood on the floor of the wendy house as they would not have been able to miss the nails in the dark. They also seemed to know exactly what they were looking for as only selected tools and equipment was stolen.

I have now been forced to move everything into the house until my garage is completed.

All I can say, is that if I catch these affirmative action shoppers there is goinf to be hell!!!!

Much sympathy SD.  2 months ago my wife and I went out for 45 minutes on a Sunday afternoon to find the entire house cleaned out, and my wife's Landrover stolen.

Just be thankful you weren't home...

And that we have to be thankful that we were only robbed and not raped or killed. Sympathies Speed Devil - when I got back from SAs earlier this year, my house had been given the 'treatment' as well.

are you contracting the work out to builders or doing it yourself?

The reason i ask is typically burglaries in the area escalate during construction.

they notify their pals etc after successfully casing the place and working out times ....

If you have builders doing the job, more than likely they know who they are.

Dont like to bitch about security but an interesting alarm bell rang in my head last week.

Was completing a tender where the spec called for 4 strand electric fencing. Fair enough. Call some subbies to give me a price. They dont make 4 strand anymore!Confused You want 4 strand you have to get it made up especially. Industry standard is now 6 or 8 strand!

Hi SD

Sorry for your loss. This is a reality in this country. Lucky you were not at home. Equipment an tools can be replaced but LIFE cannot be replaced

I don't get it that we just accept it and that we should be grateful that we were not at home to be raped and murdered.Angry

This is not acceptable.Angry

I feel the same as you SD we should set traps and things everywhere. Get hectic attack dogs etc.

I started to consider moving elsewhere but could not stomach the thought of living in Oz or Pommieland I just Love SA it is my homeland and I am proud to be a Saffa.
