MTB Social / Club rides on Westrand

Nancy Drew, that is organising a ride on Breedts Nek, made me think (I know it is dangerous to think). I look forward to ride with the group.

I live close to the mountains, so to take my MTB out on weekends is a real pleasure, do not have to ride to get to the starting point and no riding on tar to get where the dirt roads start. It is so uncomplicated, ride anytime of the day. I do this always solo.

 

What I need from time to time is to interact a bit more on the social side of cycling, like group rides. I ride a couple of races a year with my brother, but it would be nice to join a group ad-hoc.

 

Any surgestions? I looked at the different MTB clubs, but there is not a lot of info on there web sites.

Doesn't West Rand Cycles have ride groups?

Myself and a small group of friends ride most weekends, around westrand.

 

I stay in Honeydew Manor close to the Sasol garage, we do touch tar from time to time! Its the nature of the area.

 

An average ride is about 40km. We aren't racing snakes so the pace is average. We are looking to do a ride this saturday of about 50km, you are welcome to join

we usually go to Northern Farm, it is a bit of a drive but definitely worth it.

(Not technical at all...) You will definitely meet a lot of new people!
