Hi

I was looking to swop it for pref a second hand thompson MTB stem, but it seems no one could get their hands on a second hand Thompson Stem and I was pm with requests for a price.......

As I was asked to put a price to the entry, and so many people wanted to get the entry, I decieded - on the Bid - ( i paid more than 245 )

I beleive its a fair way to get the enrty to a serious someone wanting to do the ride,

you are jumping the gun and ranting for nothing -----  find something really worth ranting about - there is so much negative c%$# in this life why must you put a negative spin on this ?????????? I am not making a killing..........

Free market....he can sell it for whatever he wishes. The fact it was sold almost immediately says the price was ok.

I wonder what the going rate is on Epic entries? I bet they're not selling for the 'suggested retail price'

supply and demand... why not make something out of others failing to enter on time?

each race organiser does it with their extra charges for late line entries...

Perhaps you should put it up for sale for R600. There's a great demand for entries and you'll probably get your price.

Better yet Mandibles, enter using family and friends with no intention of riding then closer to the time sell them at inflated prices. There should be a reporting method for this type of swindle with the crook forfeiting their entry.

LOL Perhaps I should use this as a business strategy. I could then work fewer hours and still have the same income which in turn would give me more hours to go cycling.

If memory serves me correctly, I do believe both the Argus and 94.7 organisers have publicly said they DO NOT CONDONE THE SELLING OF ENTRIES AT A PROFIT and that they appealed to the public NOT to do so.

Report the person to the race organisers perhaps they will refuse the entry substitution which will force the seller to refund the "profit".

Race organisers can charge for their labour for late entries, substitutions etc, its not the same thing Rude, and as Goofs said, where do you stop, next we will have syndicates buying up thousands of entries on the first day and reselling three weeks later at a "profit".

Dont let this rest, Report it to the organisers, if they do nothing, well, too bad, but I have a sneaky feeling they will.!

Firstly, I think it would be pretty much impossible to stop. And secondly, as you might guess by my first post, I don't have a problem with it.

It's a free market. If I can buy anything by any legal means and can make a profit selling it to a willing buyer, there's pretty much nothing you can do about it.

The organisers might not like it, but if they offer these entries for sale to the general public, I would think that by law, the moment any person offers to purchase the entry it becomes a legally binding contract, in the same way that the 7/11 on the corner offers you a verbal contract by opening it's doors and offering it's goods for resale.

Now if the organisers were to expressly forbid this in the entry form....different story alltogether.

Do they by any chance...?
