Went out along the beach after work today fixie style

So no opinions on Simple Sam single speed/fixie ? I will have to start I bought a second hand simple sam .. yellow Put fabric lock on grips and fizik saddle Bike is comfortable as a commuter... and cheap on wallet Will be great to cruise beaches and pubs which is the reason I got her.. Any one else have a simple sam ?

Was at Bondi Blu on Sat.. They had bikes..but refused to sell me one The excuse was the salesman was new and didn't know anything about the bikes They call the bikes colony .. a bit cheap looking I offered to assemble myself still refused to let me buy.. So I bought a second hand Simple Sam today Build quality much better than the colony

Moved from the Fatbike to normal wheels.. Managed to get this single speed 29er Inbred On One .. I plan to build an Inbred 29er Monster Cross I am loving the steel ride ... reminds me of hitting the streets on my BMX in the early 1980's

I read the Fat Bike bashing with amusement I rode one of the Fatties at the fair ON Sunday Enjoyed it so much I came home and sold my road bike And purchased a fatty Not the El cheapo but a mid range Mongoose Argus Added a FUNN Stem Seatpost and handle bars plus a sella italia saddle.. rides like a 4 x 4 29er .. love it Bought her so I have one bike for all I will never race after my accident in the Juma last year so this Beast will keep me fit and having fun while I ride

Went to JHB cycle fair on Sun and rode a Fat Bike I enjoyed it so much I sold my road bike and added a few rand to buy a fatty Got a fairly decent mongoos Argus Bought FUNN seat post stem and handle bars Added new Sella Italia saddle and proper lock on grips This is how she was .. in pic I will post pics with new bits tomorrow Just need to get decent flat pedals .. MONGOOSE came std with 2 X 10 SlX front and rear derailer Deore shifters - Tektro hydraulic brakes .. FSA cranks and BB And didn't break the bank

Hey She feels quick .. Too quick for me ( skill set has faded since 1983..) Hops well and feels balanced, unlike my MTB the front end feels balanced and not top heavy... Sonose diving will be less likely but if she does nose dive it's my need for practice... Will still need to do a good ride on her, planning to try this weekend..

Brakes selected , fitted and dialed in .. XT parallel with matching lever.. Fits like a glove and feels smooth, stops on a coin with Cool stop pads Here are pics .. Without her pads.. still 9.95kg

Did some test runs on tar, down an incline about 7° and 400m up and 400m down.. Did 10 or 15 runs back and forward...? Eeeiiiiiish... How did I spend 12 hours on a BMX as a laaitie...? My F@$.... My legs hurt and I didn't break a sweat... This is gonna be another kind of fun.. She was smooth and felt quick .. No noises ... Was able to bunny hop but its a diffent technique to hopping my DS MTB.. I've forgotten the stuff I knew So I think this lady is gonna be a new sport..hobby Just need to dial brakes in 100%...and tidy up the detail on the frame . .. I might want to go clipless... My Right foot was a bit slippery..

Managed to find (Chickens teeth) TIOGA SPYDER -- slightly used ... Busy I am now experimenting with Shimano V brakes -- some of these older XT etc stick out a tad, ---- She now sits at 9,90Kg -- working on getting closer to 9,5 -- or 9.0...
