Air brakes.  Dilbert style!! 

 

My first MTB stage race (& my first mtb race since 2004), I had a lot of fun! I borrowed Rakker's bike on Thursday, probably not the best idea, but at least I could ride.

 

Some things I learned:

 

A frame that is too small feels ok for a spin around the block, but starts killing you after a couple of hours.

 

It is very hard to get food out of a Camelback on the go.

 

Check disk brakes for dragging BEFORE riding 90km, not after.

 

We dont have great road climbs in SA, but some serious MTB climbs

 

Time pedals will work despite an amazing amount of mud
