ID of "sealed bearing" on MTB hub

We have 32 hole Joytech disk MTB hubs on the tandem. We use the wheels with slicks and they work extremely well. I found a little roughness on the front wheel and isolated it to be the left bearing. On the plastic dirt seal of the bearing I found the following inscriptions.

6001-2RS

NBK

Joytech

Is the first inscription the bearing ID. I will also measure the axle dia as well as the hub inside diameter. I want to buy new bearings when we are in the RSA next week. If nothing else I will press the bearing out just before we visit RSA and use it as a sample.

6001 is just a iso code for the iner, outer and thickness of the bearing, 2rs means 2 rubber seals, NBK IS THE BRAND, I would try replace with INA or FAG bearings, reputable german brands

Thanx Xenomorph I will get replacements of the type you suggested and get some for the rear Hub as well.

6001-2RS is the correct bearing nomenclature. Phone Bearing Man they have branches all over even in darkest Africa.

Better still, ask for 6001-2RS C3 bearings. They should roll faster!
