On the Klein Joostenburg ride this morning I heard reports from people who started in the E group behind us that about 5 C/D riders went over the timing mats in the E group and then merged with our group.  Thereby scoring themselves a tidy 2 minute bonus on the rest of us.  This happened to me before when I came second in a group having been at the front most of the way and blow me down if there was not some phantom rider who managed to gain 2 minutes on our group with no-one ever seeing him ride past us.  I wrote to PPA but they never changed the timing or took any action.  Am I right to be p!SS3d or should I just take a chill pill?

doesnt it put them in your staring group with the same start time even though they had a lower seeding?

for example i being 'Q', start in group 'R-S' with my bro and as far as i know i wont have a disadvantage...my time was the same as the WT results

I think it depends how competitive you are - I know it would make me ?#$%*! crazy, but then I'm a competitive person - many would just shrug it off.  I think that competitve peeps like me should just remember that palookas like that are only cheating themselves ... if I did it, I would always think (whenever I looked at my seeding) that I'm actually really just a loser (which isn't nice)!

Easy.

There was no marshal between the timing mats and the start line.

I went over the mats with L group, although I have a K seeding. K was still standing in front of us waiting to be set off.

Nothing would have stopped me from merging with the K group and scoring the time between the start of K & L groups.

I wanted to ride one group down, hoping it would help me not to be dropped on the first hill like last year. Did not work. Embarrassed

I wouldn't get to stressed about it. Today caught out a lot of riders with this race not being a league race and a lot of the groups started earlier than they normally do. I was standing with my wife in Q when the PPA marshal called her group to come forward. Most of her training partners were still drinking coffee or were in the loo. As I walked back to the registration area after she left I saw numerous H - N riders still going to the start.

Maybe the guys who jumped ahead just made a mistake.
