Kid, we had nuff rain the last two weeks.

 

You do a rain dance and you gonna look hellluva funny with two broken legs and a broken wrist (make that two broken wrsits.)

 

An for good measure, I'll pull the wheels off your bike as well. That should be a small enough disincentive to do any kinda rain dance.

 

You wanna but a wheelchair, I got one for 5 grand that I can let you have for 10.

Lessee. Wheelset is Round ones with new tyres. Individual hand brake on each wheel and freewheel hubs. Deep section wheels will help chuck it over in high wind and comes without supermodel to push you around in it.

 

Two hand power without fixed cogs for better cornering. No accidents and Gripmore gloves thrown in for an extra R1500. (Bought at LWS for R150 but I need to make a profit so I can go to Sin City next weekend.)

.  So on Saturday' date=' I managed to drag myself off to Xumbugs to meet up with the bunch. met up with Greyowl ([s']virgin[/s] version 2 point oh).

 

Set off for the ride adn just cruised chatting away for a while. The bunch was pretty big so we cruised up closer to the front. There was another bunch ahead of us and we were catching them up. GO thought they were about 30 seconds or so ahead and figured it would take about two minutes to close them down. I contemplated that it would become very intersting if one bunch caught up to another and made passing moves.

 

Somewhere along the line, GO thougth the bunch might go on a break so I got prepared mentally to go if there was a break. There was one. 'Bout two k' s from the stop street, GO went. (Now I know that sounds foncusing but you kinda had to be there). I went too and tried to hang on but damn, GO is way too fast for me. At least, I can say that the break was reasonably early in the scheme of where we normally start to "race" to the bridge and the group never really challenged us.

 

I just tried to go as hard as I could and eneded up not being passed by many of the gang. Going over the bridge, I was quite surprised to find that stopping to regroup is pretty much a thing of the past. I went really slowly over the bridge needing to blow and recover after that 2k odd chase when GO went passed the front bunch as well.

 

The steps became an ordeal for me. I guess I may have caught up but GO asked me if I would be okay if I got to the back of the bunch. "forshore dude. " So he gave me a huge shove. Eish. That was a first ever for me but helped to catch them. Once on the back, recovery was pretty good despite the after effects of bronchitis, and I got stronger. Ended up moving up the pack back to the front, getting bollocked on by our old friend Moaning Minnie. Damn, that chick can whinge 'bout everything. Said I cut her off. (Yeah, right.)

 

Anyhoo, I just kicked it and went off chasing the leaders. It took me the entire staircase, but I got to the front before we got to the bridge.

 

A pretty good ride overall, but it left me feeling  for the rest of the day.

 

What is it about getting on a bike that makes me got ape? I just can't seem to control myself.

 

The embarrasing part of the whole episode was that I was to meet droodt on Sunday for a kyk-weer. My ass was so sore and I had a serious problem with those bloody things that hang around uranus and do nobody any bloody good at all. I think we call motorists by this name when they p!ss us off.

 

So I had to pamper the poephol.  Caramba.

 

Woke up ealry Sunday for my ride and found that the but was in no shape to merge with the saddle. So we pampered againf with creams, lotions and all sortsa junk. I even had some more of the crunchy breakfast that makes you tired before you even ride, but I just couldn't face 90 k's on the seat.

 

Sorry dude. If you not racing this weekend, we'll do it forshore.

 

Later (very much later) I felt reasonably better so I tried a few k's 'round the hood. Not much pain so ended up going for a 40 k ride. Up Voortrekker, South Rand Road (man that is some climb.) and then home again via Klipriver.

 

Today, my legs feel very fragile. Good thing I never tried to do 90 yesterday.

Slave - its the after effects of the bronchi that made you feel that crap, even if your butt was ok, it would have been a huge mistake to go and do 90, especially with Obelix, as he is a strong bugger.

next time make sure you ride hard at the front, so bunch splits up, and mina is not there.

Yeah, Nuwbie. Next time I'm gonna take some duct tape and tape her yap shut. I enjoy the lazy bunch ride on Saturdays but she can wreck it for anyone.

 

I planned to work on my own fitness for a few weeks (until I got sick) and then ride with the faster dudes. Even if I get dropped,I'm going to make it my mission to get with the faster boys and go for it.

 

It will be to my advantage and I can avoid the moans.

Coupla weeks ago she was whinging and whining 'bout Spas09 when he stood up to rest the posterior. "Whoo, whoo, sit down, Go and ride with you friends before you come back and ride this group, moan, moan, moan." All the "whoo, whoos" the dumb braod sounded more like an owl on roids. (But I still LMFAO at the parrot on roids thing.)

 

So I told her to help us and teach us instead of complaining. The look man, that look. She nearly killed me with it.

 

Great that she has a good soul, but for five cents, shut the frikken yap.

 

I always ride her off my wheels especially up the steps. My first real go up the steps, I lead them for just over half way up before I popped, and she had so much to say about how crazy it was for people to try and lead the pack. I think she was miffed because the rest of the okes chased me and it go too hot for her.

 

Like whatevva. She doesn't own the group and should concentrate on riding instead of whinging.

I guess you're right 'bout the bronchi dis-ting. I gotta take it easy otherwise I'm just going to wear yself down again and get sick all over.

 

Taking a rest today and will do a nice recovery ride tomorrow. Then I will do some hills again Wed, and see how I feel Thursday. Friday, rest and I think Saturday, I'm going to try the faster bunch, although I am tempted to ride with the other dudes on Saturday, just to get in her face. (On second houghts. life'stoo short to hassle about misery and miserable people.

 

At least my ass feels better today. The legs, well they are fragile, but the ass feels reasonable.

 

Come on Sunday, Obleix is gonna prob'ly ride away from me, but, I'm gonna give it a go.

Good luck, maybe this weekend she wont be there as she might be racing on Sunday. Shame to the poor souls who end up in her starting group.

You will need extra strong duct tape, maybe an inch or more wide, othwise you will be wasting yr time. maybe you can try some nails in front of her.................

I wondered what happened. The only Panda kit I saw was at the 1st Kibler park road and the old timer was standing next to his Bianchi (cool).<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I road at the back intentionally looking out for you. (felt like getting ready for a frikin blind date....) Saw the old timer, jumped on my brakes, false alarm! An old friend was with them so cherped the friend about the fact that he had not phoned me for a ride yet.

It's ok though, all forgiven. Had an OK ride yesterday, very "rustig".

 

I'm racing on Sunday. Newbie, will I see you in the morning, we can discuss our team tactics for Sunday ------------> ? (You pull I follow)

If the weather permits, I will be there yes. Good tactics, but how about I follow for the first 90, then switch?
