Knee warmers are about the closest to 3/4 I can get.

Have full leg and 3/4 leg warmers (AKA knee warmers.), as well as full length tights and bib tights.

I take it you would want thermal stuff seeing as though you're such a softie and hate the cold.

Hey slave, I'm looking at getting me a pair of full length tights.  Are Panda like Anatomic, who believe that every cyclist in the world has 2 metre long legs? (so they just end up 'bunching up' around the ankles for a short sh!t like me)

Hey Nance. Chat to Ox. He got a pair and will probably give you an unbiased opinion.

I think there kit is great, but I have limited experience regarding kit. If they are miles too long, Mrs. Slave is quite an accom;ished seamstress and she could prob'ly shorten them for you without too much of an issue.

Nancy,

I've only fitted them on so far twice. I have not used them while cycling as I don't see the need to carry the IDT outside so I can wear my bib longs on the patio at night on my IDT on my non-running week night (which is tonight smiley4.gif)

The medium mens version seems to be of the correct length for me. The hooks that go around the heels appears to be sewn onto the the legs, so in theory you should be able to detach them (CAREFULLY!), cut the legs shorter and re-attach ?

That face mask came in handy this morn - see it was 6degr when I got home.

Glad to hear that Nuwbie. You happy with the quality of the goods?

As long as it does the job intended, and does not pull apart I will be happy.

Seems no problem though.

So answer probably yes.

You must get some pics of the kit range on here so we can see what yr talking about.

Good luck, right time for winter gear

Thanks Slave and Ox, maybe I need to try a pair on before making a decision..

btw are we on for a slow(ish) (i.e. one that I can keep up with) short loop on the 23rd?

My road bike tyres have already gone flat.  I did ride my MTB up to the top of Northcliff hill this morning (in the dark), firgured I'd better ride a bit before I meet up with you loonies again to spare myself total humiliation

Nance, you will be spared "total humiliation". At the very least you'd have to share it smiley2.gif On the 23rd I'm bringing my bikes cousin and its pilot for a first road ride. Think I might have to stop at the place where the dustbin is no more to not dishearten the pilot completely (The ride was sold as 40km....)

I am looking for some prices on yr gear for the missus please:

Bib shorts

Bib tights 3/4 lenght

Bib tights full lenght

Winter jacket

Long sleeve shirt

And also those banking details

Trubes, dude. I will send you the banking details soon. (Yeah, I know I gave you the goods already but I do trust you.)

Suggest I bring you a few samples of the stuff early this evening so Mrs, Trubie can see what she likes and I have a prices list.

Full lenght bib tights are R450.00 (That is in thermal Lycra.)

only 3/4 things available would be leg (Knee) warmers. Full length leg warmers are R300 so kinda makes sense to me to have bib tights for winter. Leg warmers morefor cold summer days to peel of the layers. and summers a few months away, so delay that one for now.

The 3/4 leg warmers are R240.

Supplier has several pairs of kit available as overstocked items on special. Comlete set (shirt and shorts) for R600. These are branded items and have logo all over them.

Hey Nance, in Oxen speak, the place is Bracken City, not too far from Panorama Shopping centre where we met last time we rode together. If you have a GPS, it is corner Hennie Alberts and Rae Frankel streets, Brackenhurst.

We can all meet there.

No problemo Nance. We can organise later. I have a bud who has recently introduced his wife to the world of cycling and she's also a bit slow.

Ox's bikes' cousins "pilot" is nervous about riding on the road and possibly nervous of bunches, (just my assumption) so I'm thinking we all meet at Bracken City (The place where the bin is "no more") and have our own quiet little bunch ride.

The other pilot will not ne able to go long, so it's going to be a short one.

Hey, coaches, Kid, dudes. Not sure if it was as a result of the shoes or some new found energy, but I had a lekker ride yesterday. What was supposed to be a Recovery ride, turned into a 20 k time trial for me.

Managed to get below 36 minutes for the first time. 35:25 or some junk. Maybe those shoes do work.

Hey GOv2.0smiley4.gif. You been quiet buddy.

So like it's not that I don't think you know what you talking about. Just some things in life seem illogical when you first analyse them.

Shoes, in this case are merely things that you put ove your feet and attache them to the bike pedals. And, yesd, the new shoes are rigid and maybe they are more efficient and just maybe, they do make a big difference.

My contention has been and remains, I have the same legs and the same feet I have always had. Higher speed comes from making those work faster. I cannot see that the shoes can ake legs wrok faster. It's too illogical in my head.

We might also have to consider that yesterday, the conditions were not windy (infact, they were quite lekker for cycling.) so maybe that has something to do with the time I managed. (Probably more than anything else.)

The fact that my legs feel great today (Vry little pain) and the fact that I felt good after the ride would be something I could logically attatch to improved efficiency from the new footware. Improved efficiency of pedal strokes can save energy and I can see it helping over longer ride more than short ones.

I dunno dude, maybe I'm just too cynical. But no matter how we analyse this, it was still a great ride and I feel quite stoked about it.

Funny thing is it was supposed to be a recovery ride after a fair hectic ride the previous day. And Monday was pretty hard as well. So, I will not even ride today or tomorrow. Enforcing rest so that I can give it my best to tun with them big dawgs on Saturday. Might even go long loop with them for the hell of it.

You in on Saturday GO? Haven't seen you for a bit. I miss that sparkling company.
