This morning?s loops ride was very noisy. I think the tail end managed to wake the entire neighborhood on route up.

I didn?t manage to get any beauty sleep in on the Lido - Nampak stretch.

 

I wouldn?t be surprised to see the local community along the route start complaining, then again they've been putting up with "the moaner" all these years.

Talkin bout noisy, droodt. There are some chaps that come past my plce early in the morning with very big voices. I guesstimate that maybe they ride the loop with you. They live in Mayberry park. Somewhere in Seder street I guess.

S2L, truth be told I'm shaking in my boots about your speed, I think I'm going to pitch on a motorbike for our first couple of rides.

BTW, I just got great news. I had a feeling my chip didn't work at the start of the fast one cause I couldn't find results. So I emialed the dudes an they tell me my chip did work.

 

So now I gave them the info they wanted and it looks like I will have an official time for the ride.

 

My cateye said 3 hrs 4 minutes and any odd seconds, but it only measures time while the bike is in motion.

 

So the four hour water stop will be added to my official time and it will hopefully help with my seeding time for 94.7 this year.

You clown. Dude, I have just made it my mission to NEVER have a recovery ride again. I am going to spend all my training time in future working on speed. I'm going to get hyper fast just so I can escape the threat of EVER meeting up with MM again.

You also just shot yourself in the foot as far as a tow up butchers is concerned. I'm gonna cut the rope halfway up and watch "helplessly as you go speeding back down in reverse.

I just took the decision to spend less time on the garage.

 

Seems to have suddenly become a dangerous place. 'k I won't cut the rope.

 

I doubt that I got into the top half the field. Maybe in my age group I might have just managed to sneak in, but I have grave reservations about that one.

Official results? Eish, who knows. Could be a week or a month. Took them two weeks to read my first e-mail. Could take them another two to find the info they need. I'm just glad that my chip worked and that I will eventually get an official result.

 

I never really paid a lot of attention to the race prior to riding it (since I ahd not got an entry until the very last minute,) so I want to know if this result would help with seeding for other races this year. Amashova and 94.7.

I know what you mean about these "chip" guys.

SS Timing done the times at the triathlon my son took part on Sunday, have they messed this up. On their list of final results there is a bug bunch with No Data Available & my son's chip is one of these. I've emailed the guys but ja.....

Maybe these chip companies are part of the goverment because the service is the same ???

Disagree totally there KId. The chip companies still offer bad service. You cant complain about government service. How can you complain about something that does not exist?

 

As to the threats, that last one of mine was about on par with yours.

 

I have decided the best thing to do with her is ignore her like she is as existant as government service. (I.e just completely and utterly non-existant.

To be honest I have no idea who this woman is.

I used to ride with the 6:30 bunch and there was only 1 woman and it doesn't sound like her, besides the 6:30 bunch lady is a lot younger.

 

Hey two and a half weeks and my cast comes off.

 

I thought of being a little naughty this weekend and taking the cast off, using a wrist guard and going for a short slow ride with my son but I'm not sure if my kids will approve. They already freaked out last Saturday when I was setting up my bike.

Like who's the boss dude? Cutting your cast off, I can't agree with, but riding with it on can't be such a bad idea. Just keep the weight off it and try not to do anything silly, like jump off the bike while we hit it down Camaro.

 

'magine cutting the cast off an then falling. That's seriously not cool. You cut the cast off, I cut your legs off and then leave the rest of you to your kids.

 

I do think you could manage a short ride with the cast on. Just take it very easy.

 

Speaking of which, I had a really great ride yesterday. (Yeah, I know, promissed myself I would have a rest day but I gave into that evil alter ego dude who abuses my legs every time I ride.)

 

I was going to do a reverseloop but eish, it was raining heavily out on the allewynspoort road. You could see it from Klipriver. So instead I just went up and down that hill between Vaal and JG Strydom 3 times. Nice and slow in granny gears and I never even raised my heart rate up to a point where I felt I was overdoing it.

 

Managed to do around 23 km, in a light rain and enjoyed the ride tremendously. I never thought it would be possible to enjoy a recovery ride, but I was still stoked about it this morning.

 

Right now, it's chucking down heavily again. Not sure I wil get my hill climbs in this arvie.
