There we go. Two takers for June 27. Work around that one Ox.

Not too interested in the route right now. Would prefer to be surprised and will take the pain on an as and when basis.

So, are we going to visit Mrs. Pless?

You and Nance are on at me about the MTB dis-ting right? Riiiight. So heres and idea. Are bike allowed in the Rhino Park? Lets go mountain biking there if we can.

You'll need to arrange the ordinance though. I am ill equiped to do the MTB thing and Mrs Slave will moer me if I take her broom. I am not licensed to fly it.

Let us make it a fixed date event then for Saturaday 27 June smiley1.gif smiley20.gif

I'll upload a pic of the route if&when the hub allows me to do so.

Who can help with more precise directions to Riverstone

Maybe we should start a separate thread for this Wild West Road Ride ...

Start a new thread. It may start out small and grow into a big monster thread like Alberton.

No bicycles in the Rhino & Lion Park, but just down the road is Teak Place...  with some interestingly steep hills.... smiley36.gif

Ok. I will be there on Sat 27th.

I have also looked at a few routes as well on the Garmin program on my computer.

Slave, Cresta is far from the ride location. Unless you want LOTS of additional training km.

Oh yee of little faith.

30k's is only an hours ride.

Hey GO, saw you out on the rode yesterday arvie. We wwnt to greet one of your least favourite hills (Lido hill towards Mondeor.)

We had quite a good ride despite the wind and klapped a full two minutes of my previous best for that route.

That Petini can climb (or was that the pilot.)

So we saw you pretty early and you said you only got home after dark. It wither took you helluva long to get home from Xumbugs or you must have taken a mean detour. What route did you ride that took you via the Sinai desert and 40 years to get home?

Dude...your gonna have to slow down on these rides!

Well, after I saw you yesterday (I saw you at the very last second) I still went along KlipRivier, along through Albertsdal, up Hennie Alberts and then zig zagged my way through Brackendowns and Brackenhurst and finally went wandering through Randhart and back home along Michelle Ave...it was not really dark, but I needed my lights on because the hooligans in the cars could not see me (I'm sure)

I'm a little nervous of riding in such heavy traffic with people who change direction without warning! And it became really cold the last few kilo's.

How long was your ride Slavey? A full 2minutes off the PB? Not bad hey!

And back again? And after the little bumps we have in the area and after Kill Hill, oh I mean, Krugersdorp Hill. smiley4.gif

GOv2.0, the ride distance from my place, up through Mondeor and home again is 46 and a bit. Used to do it in 1hr 50 and have wittled it down progressively. Yesterday was a time of 1:34:11.

What I found interesting is that from the traffic light at the bottom of the hill, it was about 6.3 or 6.8 k's to Columbine Ave. Average speed was just a fraction over 20 k's an hour. By the time I got home, we had chased that up to 28.6 and the overall avearge speed we achieved was 29.5.

Next week,I plan to do that route up Butchers first and that should give me an indication of how fit I am for hills. I just haven't done many for the last month or so and I could feel it yesterday.

So, maybe we should go and do the route together. You can give the wicked witch your piece of mind directly for old times sake and we get to do some hill training.

I can relate to the traffic dis-ting. I hate getting home after dark. It sucks. So we left earlier yesterday to get the distance in before dark. Gary pushed it and I chased heavily which is what I can attribute the time to. He really klaps me. He and Kid's kid had a great time last weekend, but I need someone like you to give him a real run.

You doing more important stuff that ride with us again tomorrow?

Edit: Statistically, tomorrow is my 200th ride. We are going to the SBR with Delgado and Joe Low. Yeeeehhaaaaa. Looking forward to some new pain and suffering.

If I am able to walk on Sunday, I will be taking a recovery ride with the social bunch. I still need to brag with my new ride and I want to see Walter on his new ride.

We are handing it over late this arvie so he can ride tomorrow morning and hopefully see him again Sunday morning. I will miss him tomorrow due to my SBR run.

Teeny has officially pulled out of tomorrows sweet bush ride (Sugar = sweet. Sweet = Suiker.)

Says he has a cold.

So is it just the four of us?

Not sure I'll check Scotty out; and there's always random scantily clad babes in the car park to hook up with.
