But Slave, I thought you wanted some doctor to give you something?

As for Treks, it gets Trubie and I up that 2.5km 8% bump fairly quickly.

Lance is in his place, behind Contador. I am a Lance fan and supported him in everyone of his Tour wins but this year I would like Contador to win, if it is an Astana win, or ideally Andy Schleck.

For a bunch of uncle Lance fans you okes sure aren't paying any attention at all.

Just to refresh your apparently poor memories, "It's not the bike.." IIRC, it was Uncle Lance who said that.

Either you can ride or you're a pretender. Since I fit the latter category of being a poser / pretender, I need to rely on the appearance of being a cyclcist so I have to do the image thing. I tried the leg shaving thing and hated the razor burn.

Obviously I need a bike to go with the image so I am working on a plan to get a Colnago. If I can't have the speed, at least I'll have the image.

I notice y'all say Treks are faster, well Colnagos are better looking in my not at all humble opinion.

Andy - just for you and me.

No wonder we rode only 52 or whatever it was k's the last time.

At least now we will know!!

Ok , now I also know thanks.

When we start at the Hotel parking area, we turn left  (the gate would be towards the right then), to start the very first ascend. There we turn left, and first left again, continue with that road until we cross the entrance road on the other side - where you also enter during race 4 victory (kareekloof side), - past the boom, and eventualy end up turning right into the road we climbed first in the beginning. (But then we would be riding against the one way on theat descend??) - is that right?) How would we get back to the parking area then if we need to obey the one way rule?

ConfusedConfusedConfused

that section of flat road after the first climb is the only two-way section of road in the reserve.

So I don't really find it exactly cheerful to be living in the middle of a totally, like, exhausted decade where there's nothing to look forward to and no one to look up to.

Yes there is but it is tiny. That is not where the problem is though, it is people coming down the wrong way of the first climb from the N3 side - close to the cattle grid if that makes any sense.

oh, sorry?i've had that hassle with bikes coming up the hill i mentioned followed by a support car. frightening?Angry

So you took a wrong turn. Thought my Cat couldn't have been that inaccurate. Hahahahah. BEst pick myself up off the floor now. Tee hee.

you missed out on a hole 15 k's.

Slave, you are way wrong.

Firstly it's all about the bike. Do you see Lancey boy riding a steel frame or a state of the carbon bike ?

Then have you had a good look at a PRINCE.

Our good friend GO has one for sale now I can bet you that if you had to ride that PRINCE you'd be way quicker than uncle Trubie....

After you have stopped laughing, please do tell us how far a hole 15k's actually is.

I now believe that you do not use one magnet only.

Andy can back me here, but I remember you saying the route is 57 k's.

So if that is true, and I deduct the 2.5 k's of the first climb from the distance I rode , it leaves me with 50 k's, if I deduct 15 from your 57, it leaves me with 40?!

So who's laughing now, you silly old age wannabee Italian mobster?

What a load of crap!!!

Of course its not about the bike.

It about yr bank balance!!

Only one uncle in our group, and that is Slave.

Come visit me with your GF, and let her decide who the uncle is.smiley7.gif

By the way - Slave doesn't need a PRINCE to be quicker than me, he can just pitch up at the ride. At the recent SH race, I had to start so damn fast to get away from him , that I was a spent force after 3k's (ok, ok, ok, stop LOL- I know I am always a spent force), and just , just managed to finish ahead of him, thanks to a 3 km shortcut I took!!

Did I add that on a recent race he had to actually push me over the line. No technical problems though, just me not able to get to the line! So please dont think Slave is the Slave you knew on that long forgotten Heidelberg ride. The man is almost as strong (read tungsten) as our pal Oxman.

That's where you are wrong Kid. A carbon bike for the great pretender, like pearls for the swine dude.  Uncle Lance is just a machine. He can ride any bike and ride it fast and far.

I was looking at the Colnago website the other day and when the golden eagle comes home to ****, I am going to get myself a steel Colnago. (Unless someone sponsors me one. And there's about as much chance of that as there is for me to fall pregnant.)

I just love those paint jobs.

Was chatting to our good friend GO the other day and he says Colnago is one of the most stable bikes he has ever ridden.

So while I lack the results, I can at least look good getting there.

having a nice looking bike will not make my legs any faster or stronger. That is all in the genes firstly and then the training.

Trubie, Trubie, you do yourself a grave injustice here. I seem to recall that the reason you needed "help" across the line was due to some severe cramping. And that was only like a k away from the end.

Have you forgotten that I hid behind you for 89 k'sof a 90 k ride and that my legs were still fresh? Do I need to remind you that I dropped out of the bunch and you had to send out a search party to come and rescue me from certain disaster?smiley5.gif

Thanks for the correction in the math there dude. Spoke to my old maths teacher who is now the principal of a certain notorious high school about getting a refund on the school fees.

57 minus 52 is sure as hell not 15. Only in an old man's mind it is.smiley9.gif

Uncle Lance is 37years old, you are way older than 37 so me calling you an uncle is a complimant, got it uncle ??

Then if I come over & visit you with my GF, you'll have a BIG minus in your bank account and you'll have to sell your TREKY.

I know Slave has improved drastically, if we every do another Heidelberg trip I'll bring the motorbike and you guys can ride behind me smiley36.gif

Way older you say?

41 vs 37, no big diffs, if my maths are correct it gives me 4 years?!

There is no Autobank @ my house , so its fine......., you can even send her by herself.

How much do you think I'll get for it, seeing as its virually still brand new, done only 8000 k's. No falls - yet, minor scratches. But I dont need to sell it......

Bring yr fast car, motorbike might not be able to keep up/run out of juice - car has bigger fuel tank.

It has become a very sad day in the Slave household.

Our very tame and crazy pet budgie died in Mrs. Slaves hands. The poor woman is distraught and I'm in pretty bad shape right now.

We go through life thinking that animals are dumb. Well the "hooter tooter" (her nickname) was as bright as a button. She knew when "dad" was home and would whistle like mad until I took her out of her cage. I could never sneak into the house because shew knew when I was home.

She had special little games like "catch the baby" when she would "eek", jump of my shoulder and run along the couch to "escape". Only to run back faster than she did running away.

I can't seem to understand how the passing of a smallie little bird can cause such pain. I feel like I have lost a human friend.

Fare thee well my "poeper", I hope there is a special place for you in birdie heaven. I will miss your "perch mile antics" (the way she would run up and down her perches and ladder until we said hello) and the welcome whistle.  The way you would K@k me out if I was too slow in letting you out of your cage. It was great to be so loved by one so small.

Good bye my "child."

Uncle Trubie, 4 years is a long time. You probably wouldn't have nawty thoughts of a 14 year old girl but when you see a 18 year old the nawty thoughts will flow naturally.

Since we are on the topic of young ladies how old are your daughters ?

And what does your bank account look like ?

MiniMe could cycle with her smiley2.gifsmiley2.gifsmiley2.gif

The bike is very economical, 1 x full tank (14liters) gets you 600km and the hills hurt a lot less.

The only worry is if a strong rider like yourself actually goes past the motorbike, eish..

@Slave

Sorry to hear about your loss.

We tend to think that pets will live forever.
