maybe because it was so cold with a captial "F". I am still in therapy as a result of riding in that cold when we did the WWRR.

Teeny' date=' went and borrowed an IDT yesterday from our neighbour. So we had a session on it last night. The session worked better than I anticpated it would. Spent time doing three sessions of 8 minutes @ "x" rpm. Lacking a cadence meter, I counted RPM during my second session and what I thought was about 80 RPM was actually 100.

No wonder I struggled to keep it going for 8 minutes at a time. Legs hurt some today.

what a show-off!!

Slave on a IDT ???

What is this world coming to ??

I was supposed to do a IDT session last might but it was so cold that I postponed it.

Slave, from what you said earlier this week you'll be riding with the bunch tomorrow & Sunday, I'd just like to wish you the best of luck ~BRRR.

Cause Trubie realized he can never be in the class of GO, Andy, Slave, Kid, Ox & the 5am gang - at least not as a cyclist. & I have an IDT if I really want to do secret training.

Looks wise its obviously different, but that's another story not for this forum.

So, I decided to and I quote myself & Ox:

?Trubie, are you doing the Vit-T-Go MTB race at Babbas Lodge this Sunday - I just entered  the 65/70km race <?: prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" />?

No, this sunday is family outing to the 702 Big Walk!

My first and only MTB race this year will be the Bekker race on 24 Sept - I have entered the 30 k's with a work colleague of mine. He is also trying to get me into every damn MTB race on the calender, without success.

Monday my 16 weeks of training for 94.7 starts, so I have to be well rested, relaxed and most NB injury free.

It will be too cold for a bunch ride this weekend.

I will be staying home where it's warmer (less cold).

I planned a major show-off for Sunday but it looks like it will be shelved for a week or two.

I was going to rock-up at the usual meeting place on the hybrid and ride with the social bunch. Try and race them on the hybrid.

Oh well, being the softie, poefter roadie that I am, I can see that will have to wait until it's warmer for me to try. So no outdoor riding for me this weekend unless I go out at mid day if the temp gets above 15.

Riding cold is not for me. I'll find somewhere to watch le tour. It get's intersting now.

Yeah, maybe so but I will take that one on the chin from whence it comes.

Your limited appearance on the roads this winter has been noted. smiley2.gif

You big guys are getting soft ????

Kid, perhaps not soft. Rather wise. Slave is progressing from being certifiable to being non-certifiable. Last Saturday's SBR ride was the first ride that I have ever done with full finger gloves. All previous winter rides have been normal kit with either arm warmers or long sleeved cycling jersey over the short sleeved one with normal half-finger gloves. Maybe I am able to withstand the cold a bit more or I am progressing from being non-certifiable to certifiable.

Ja, ja KId.smiley36.gif You know what I was talkig about. It helps your cycling not at all to be on the road, in you car.

Cycle training demands that we turn pedals mate and since it has been while, like with the Ox, I just thought I would remind you.smiley2.gif

Andy, dude, as you get older, you feel the cold a little more. When I was young and dumb, the cold never worried me quite so much as it does now. The rides I took earlier this week were all in shorts, with riding jacket to keep the upper body warm. It was fine, but now, it's rather freezing. Far too cold for a wise old fart to be running around in the streets on a bicycle.

So, kid, when you finally make your return to the roads on your bicycle (Not the motorised one) you will have to get Dom to give you a tow.

As far as being soft, you state the obvious mate. Facts already admitted in evidence.

The defence rests.smiley2.gif

Well mine is very simple hide away from the cold. If the weather warms up, ride some. If not, hide some more until the weather is a little more cyclist friendly.

Plan on completing one or two prohjects about the house anyway, one of them is completeing a bike build for one of Teenies buddies. We plan to turn him into a cyclist.

Hopefully I'll be able to do a mini 1/2 duathlon (just bike/run) in the gym tonight. Maybe teach the legs how to swop from biking to running mode

Saturday I'll wash the MTB and Sunday it will be the 70km MTB race at Babbas Lodge...

I see Slave. Probably true!

So what is everyone's riding schedule this weekend?

Andy mate, I'll be trying my utmost best to be out and about tmrw morn on a 100k ride, and then sunday I will be upping the specified bike training by walking 5 km at the 702 walk.

Careful not to strain yourself on that 5km walk dude.

I have heard it said that walking that distance can be rather strenuous.smiley2.gifsmiley36.gif
