"k guys' date=' sorry to interrupt you chit chat about training.

With all the bike jackings going on on the steps, and my sudden aversion to cold, I would like to know if anyone wants to get a group ride going from Rietvlei from about 8 am on Sat and Sunday mornings.

It is still too cold for me for 07h30 (yeah, still in thereap after the WWRR at minus 4 degrees.) and I haven't done the loop for ages.

It's imprtant that we have a group together going up the steps.

How fast do you plan to cycle ?

(I'm 10kg heavier and 30km/h slower than before)

@Trubie

My goal is just to get onto my bike and do 40km.

poofter

that's too easy man, rule is you still need the goal to be challenging. the board will decide if it qualifies

Kid, Speed is not the issue right now. I am just looking for numbers to make up a decent enough group. I am not going to freeze any other body parts off anymore, I lost enough during the WWRR. Sides 8 is a little later and slightly warmer.

For the fitter, stronger riders, they can do intervals along the Allewynspoort road (Eye of Africa). The major concern is to go up the steps in a group and for at least tow to be together at all times along the Allewynspoort road.

The MO of the bike jackers seems to be going for those who drop out of the bunch up the steps. That way there are less eyes to see and react.

You keen?

Goals, okay....

I'm hoping to do a 10km run/40km cycle/5km run duathlon by middle next year in 2H30 or a bit less.

With 2x2min transitions it requires me to do the running at 5:30/km and cycling at 30km/h. I can run the distance at that pace, and I can cycle(d) at that speed, just need to learn to do it immediately after each other... Bricks, you get it?

Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a sub 2:50 94.7 and a 20min 5km TT along the way?

I haven't been on the bike for ages, that Sunday you saw us we done 20km and I was taking strain (legs fill up with too much blood).

I don't have to be a soccer fan this weekend.

MiniMe may also come with, I'll ask him.

And siince you the biggest you'll be the bouncer just don't run ride away.

I'll be on a hybrid so I think speed is not going to be an issue.

I have an agenda to fulfill with the hybrid and it should be fun.

Looks like it will be the four of us so we can meet at Vaal and Klip river, unless we get other takers.

@Trubie

What do you currently weigh ?

Can you tow me in the 94.7 ??

not sure' date=' havent been on the scale in looong time, but I would reckon about 96/97, could even be more, so I haver to loose about 9/10 kg's.

I am already planning to tow the missus after I have completed my race, so if you can hitch on, you are welcome, although I think you might find the rid a bit pedestrian for your liking

what's yr goals then Mr Blu?

Momentum Health Teavigo National Duathlon Series GlenBurn Lodge (Kromdraai) 2009 (Road) on 02 Aug 2009 (Central Gauteng)

@OX

When is the next duathlon in JHB ?
