Shawn. Long time buddy. You been very quiet and I haven't seen you at Xumbugs for like EVER.

They were still leaving at 07h30 last weekend and I have not heard anyone say they would make it any earlier. If you go down tomorrow and they left at 7 I will be there and we can hook up for a ride.

Greyowl might be there too as will the Kid and probably Trubie. So we can make our own bunch.

You nutters!!!!

There seems to be various groups at the moment.

The fast group & the social group leave at 7am, then there seems to be a 'lazy group' which is leaving at 7:30am.

I've put in some millage this weekend, done 77km yesterday and 70km today. Still slower than normal but it's getting there!!!

See you guys on Saturday @ 7am!!!!

Yeah, it was a bit of a shock to the sysytem to see that the groups are leaaving at 7 again. I waited for a ride buddy to leave in time to get to the bunch by 7h30 so I was late getting there and saw the "bunches leaving before I even got there. Result was chase down the group so no recovery rest after mad dash to get there.

Caught up with what I thought was the social group and it consisted of KId, his kid, Greyowl, Delgado and one of the water bottle twins. Turned out to be a coold ride, especially the bit where we chased after a truck to do some motor pacing. Pity I could not hang on longer but it was fun while it lasted.

Someone, can't remember who, told me bunches were now leaving at 7 so made a big effort to get up earlier and get there. Could not find one of my buds and was in two minds as to which group to ride with. Eventuall set off to chase down the faster group for what I hoped would be a recovery ride.

I have this conspiracy theory that someone from the fast group read what I posted last week and decided to teach me a lesson. They got the hammer down early and kept the pressure up all the way. I got my slowpoke @ss dropped after 12 km along the Allewynspoort road after doing speeds of 41 to 45 trying to hang on at the back of the pack.

Fortunately, there were a couple of others so we formed a very small group and limped home, feturing a very slow crawl up the steps.

FWIW, I withdraw my comment about the being slow.

So, Kid, looks like I have to go back to staying on the porch with the puppies cause I battled to run with the big dawgs.

Will be joining the slow guys on Sat for a gentle ride in prep for D2D which is next Sunday.

Was good to see some of the other hubbers (Delgad et al) joining us for the ride. Love that Battaglin he has restored, it looks awesome buddy.

Greyowl was also there on his retro Eddie Mercx.

Have a chat to Greyowl. I think he is a physio and he can probablt help, or put you in touch with someone who can. Looked out for you this weekend and wondered why you weren't around.

Now we know.

Well...it was great fun having a retro ride with Delgado on saturday! Its tough to be humble, but we were the two coolest cats in the bunch on our retro, down tube shifter equipped steel rides! Aspire guys...aspire!

Ok, I missed the memo to notify all and sundry that the group wre now leaving at 7am! I pitched up there yesterday with Dash82 and we were shocked that no one was there! They were there at 7 30am the day before! I thought the cycling 'Rapture' had taken place and I had been left behind! (I hope someone out there understood that?!)

Slave...you have to up those intervals bud...cant let those guys run away from you on your own turf!

Was great meeting EA1043010!!! Thanks again for a great ride!

Dudes. I have to get in a ride on Saturday AM. Keep the legs moving and making sure they work.

After yesterday, they are somewhat shattered. So since I am racing Sunday, I have to protect them a bit ad take an easy ride otherwise I just battle on Sunday.

So, Kid, what happened to you kid Saturday. I though he was with me in that acceleration to chase the truck down and all I saw in my peripheral vision was him falling back. Next thing I saw a wheel I expected it to be him but it was the birdman.

That little acceleration made the legs work very hard and so did the fast bunch on Sunday. I could not believe the speeds they were doing. Even some of the other okes were complaining about it too. Anyway, they dropped my slowpoke butt. I managed to hang on until 3 km before the bridge.

So after my ride yesterday, I took the bike home and cleaned it really well. Got all the oold oil and gunk off the chain, cleaned the gears and washed the bike. It is now race ready for the D2D come Sunday.

Wish I could say the same about the rider.

EDIT:

Not too concerned with what / who you watching and what you can see. I will change the colour of my hair and ride with the social bunch incognito.smiley17.gif

Slave, since you riding during the week why don't you take Saturday off ??

Then the bike & rider will both be ready for Sunday.

NO RIDING WITH SOCIAL BUNCH - EVER!!!

If I can keep up with the fast bunch and I've been off for Winter then you could easily lead the fast bunch.
