Ox - If I taper for a race, I would ride the 2 days prior to the race.

Only two this year is Argus and 94.7

for the rest, I take the day before off, cause I want to be able to race as hard as possible - due to the fact I'm treating it as a training race. so this week, no riding on wed, no riding tmrw. wont harm you to ride tmrw. This is also only my own opinion and fits in with my own training programme...

Coach, Ahem. You told me to go out and ride before all the races I have done so far this year.

So how come you not following your own advice? WTF.

Those rides I had vefore the races were good. Maybe I got a bit carried away, but they were good and did not have any negative impact on my races.

Team ASGR.

Hello all Team ASGR. Hope you all had a marvelous cycling weekend.

Trubes, Kid and others, how was the race yesterday? Hope you all achieved your targets.

Waiting for my neighbor to join me for our bunch ride yesterday, it appeared at about 06h40 that he was not going to make it. Ended up chasing the clock to get to Xumbugs before the groups left.

Saw the old wise bird en route so we stopped to have a chat. Turns out he was riding to Vereeniging. I ended up riding with the man as far as Meyerton, before I turned towards SBRNR.

We chatted about all sorts if stuff and it looks like we are going to become an official team. Yep, Team ASGR. Team Alberton, South, Glenvista Riders. Well, that at least is one of the bird mans?s ideas.

So what do you lot think? I like. Anyone thinking of joining? Are the bird man and I the first official members?

Saw IanJ and his crowd of TCS couple of times. Last time was when I was on the way from Meyerton to SBR. Was cool to see the lads and ladies again.

Saturday the ride was OK except for an incident with a Taxi. Frikkin ijit was overtaking another vehicle Came so close to us that he ended up losing his wing mirror. Teach the sucker right. Mirrors tend to sting a bit at 60 kph

Other than that, managed to hang onto the bunch who rode at a civilized pace. Got dropped right at the top of the steps. Hectic pace and my HR peaked at 182, a bit above what it is supposed to max out at. Ouch.

Slave, watch the heart dude there are no spares lying around.

Did you tow Mini-Me up the steps on Sat ?

I did a 3:11 at yesterday's C2C, I enjoyed the ride and I felt every meter of the last 10km. When I saw the results today then I don't know so much, see that Malcom won with an avg of 45km/h - how does he do that ??

Race 4 Victory

At least we starting a little earlier, the heat yesterday was drainning.

Where is the Zwartkopjes Pumping Station ????

Right next to the air field.

Well done there kid, 3:11 is not bad at all. IIRC this was your first race.

So you see, 4 hrs for 94.7 is not a realistic time.

As for Mr. Lange and his average speed, you'll have to ask him.

Mini me almost had to tow me up the steps on Saturday. I hung onto the bunch as much as I could and fell out right up at the top.

Hey Slave' date=' good to see you yesterday, we did a nice easy 110km from the Circus on the Fast One route to Vereeniging and then back via Midvaal and Henley.

Hope you didn't mind us invading your territory? [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley2.gif[/img]

It's all good IanJ. Greyowl said he saw you close to the circus. At that stage I had not seen you. Then we split at Meyerton and I headed out towards SBR.

There are a lot of cycists ut yesterday. Must be all this frantic training for some race coming up in just less than 7 weeks time.

Am I mistaken or was there some blonde lady in your group that was very easy on the eyes?

I didn't see Wonder Woman yesterday.

I had an idea that if I ever got involved in a cycle team, I would want to call it something like padal pandemonium. or maybe Pandemonium pedlars.

I think you planted the see way back and it seems to have taken root. Now GO wants us to think about this and call it team ASGR.

ASGR is so much easier to say.

'Magine trying to shay "pandepedal mainacsh , hic." when you hab had one too many whipskys?

I am not as think as you drunk I am...... hic.
