GO, dude, the kid found another Colnago at a BS in the norf. Oxman is going to scout it. It's red so according to Kid, it should be fast, It even has those chrome stays like your Mercx.

It's a 62cm frame with 8 speed Campag Mirage. Has Mavic open pro wheels. Steel frame.

What do you think dude? Whole bike is like just over 2k.

I agree with the plans for Saturday, Meet at Panorama and then head out to Meyerton and back. 100 - 110 km.

Slave...that Colnago at the BS in the north, sounds good. But keep in mind that your buying a steel frame bike. Still good and still a Colnago.

But its not going to be as light as the CHIC.

I have to be honest dude, that CHIC is the way to go. For an extra grand your getting much newer technology, carbon rear stays coupled with a carbon fork. F mentioned some extra's that came with it and I would honestly consider that first.

I can also vouch for the CHIC, I know the owner and he is pedantic when it comes to his bikes. I cant say the same for this one. (but that does not mean its not a good bike)

Ok...so we are meeting at Panorama centre on saturday morning?

This ride is not a race. It is essentially a tour with time constraints.

The objective is to complete the ride within the laid down time limits of between 15 and 30 kmph average
All finishers will receive a commemorative beer glass (filled) at the finish, together with their control cards
In the interests of traffic safety the organisers reserve the right to separate the starters into batches
Maximum average speed 30kmph
Minimum average speed 15 kmph

c'mon guys, My responsibilities for the weekend has just been removed from my shoulders, so I can do a bike ride (or as many as I want) over the weekend....

Sadly, I declined an invite to the 24hr MTB last night smiley6.gif so need something to do... the Sani Transfrontier is another option, but with no iron to carry blood I reckon I'll struggle too much at the top of the mountain... So the Ian Kernick might just be it
