So we are in for a rather cold week with temps dropping well below zero from wed onwards. smiley11.gifsmiley11.gifsmiley11.gif

Busy week with Fountains as a training ride with a bud on wednesday, and then to dust off the cobwebs and get on the MTB for Saturday's Nissan Fast & Furious in Walkerville....

Was silly enough to attempt the 3 stage race that GN hosted this weekend.

Fri - Hillclimb TT at Voortrekker Monument

Sat - 86 k's at Rooiwal

Sun - Kermesse of 20 mins + lap once again at the Monument, this time a 1.3 km lap around it, with a 300 m climb of 8.9 % grad thrown in for good measure on each lap....

Hard, very hard 3 days, but do-able and something else - was great actually (after it was donesmiley9.gif)

Sheesh, that wind and cold kept me off the bike this AM. More the wind than the cold, but I have to say, I'm REALY glad I was able to get into work without having to brave the elements.

I think if I was forced to ride, I would have got to the office via Durban. HTF is that wind?

And you okes riding fountains tomorrow are going to freeze your extrmities off. I will be warmly cuddled up in bed and scince I'll be asleep, I wont be pretending to think about you suffering.

Good luck all of you.

Can't help but wonder how many peeps will forgo entry fees and stay home.

They going to get blown all the way to Springs, just hope they come back.

I'll also be sleeping in tomorrow and probably staying off the road for the rest of the week.

Time to test the IDT again.

Man alive - this morning was coldsmiley11.gif

I started off at about 7:15 - the temp was minus 3, by the time the Fountains ride started @ 8:10 it was minus 1, by 9:00 it was 5 degr, and by 10 it had warmed up to 9 degr. Just seen that the ave temp for the 4:37 ride was 6 degr.

Now that its finished, its a great feeling!

Tmrw, i'll take off and do a short ride on Fri morning, Sat is Nissan Fast and Furious.

Go Bafana

Got a lift to office Tuesday and again today. I am very glad I did not ride the fountains yesterday.

There is just something about riding a bike when it's that cold.

Well done Trubie for being our hard core representative yesterday. The team salute you. You have to be nuts to race in weather like that.smiley18.gif

Maybe ore likely a bit of both there Trubes.

Young and dum and full of ......

Eish,Kid, that team of your certainly wiped the floor with Korea yesterday.

Pity I missed the game. Did watch the Spain game lst night though. They really should have scored a few more times.

Now it remains to see if the French are going togo onstrike and allow us the win we need. The head says no way can we beat the Frogs 5 nil and no way are Uruguay going to beat Mehico by the marginn we need.

Ah well, it's been fun with some great soccer in between.

Is it time for me to start flying my Brazil flag yet or do I wait for the expected to become official before I go ahead and do that?
