@Slave, if you miss me I'll be the guy riding right at the back.

Got the plastic bike a month or two back & the plan was to sell the Bianchi but then the 2nd MiniMe shot up and the Bianchi got passed down to him.

Just look for a plastic bike with Campag....

Cool, I get to sleep late for a whole weekend.

I am used to leaving home at 05h45 for work every day. Now I can sleep at least an hour later. It takes me about 15 minutes to get to xumbugs.

See you in the AM. B)

Gotta go change for the commute home. In this heat.

'K. SO i bailed on Friday, it was a rough ride home on Thursday.

Not my best weekend ever. My ball and chain has fallen off and I have heaps of other challenges right now. Was quite chuffed that my worst weekend ever was over until I got to the office this AM. I feel like a nose I'm being picked on so much. :(

I managed half a short loop ride solo on Saturday afternoon. Man that wind blew.

Hey Trubes, saw you riding this morning which I thought was unusual. Don't you normally rest on Mondays?

Or were you still getting home from where the wind blew you all to during yesterday's ride? FRIKKING wind was terrible.

hang in there

ball & chain fallen off? sounds bad

yes, normally it is, but lately the challenges on time is of such nature that I need to use all possible times available. Just had to go do a ride todat after the suffering of yesterday, to make sure I will be able to ride to the start of tmrw am's ride at least.

I understand about the time constraints. There are only so many hours in a day.

At least I can get to ride whenever I feel like it now. (The bike that is. The indoor trainer has been unridable for many months now and has decided to leave.)

After all this hard work, things were just starting to look peachy and I saw light at the end of the tunnel.

Turns out it was an express train headed in my direction at great speed.

Oi Slave sounds like you're having some tough issues at home. Hope it works out the way you want man.

Sure am Big man. On Thursday it felt like a sledgehammer got slammed into my gut, but I guess that was the train. :o  Then on Friday I was pretty much numb and in a state of complete shock. Saturday, was p1ssed off (which I guess is better than being p1ssed on). We had a long chat on Saturday evening and it's final. No repairs on this tube. It is blown for good. Doesn't seem to be a patch big enough to sort this puncture. It needs a whole new wheel.

Then yesterday the pain set in and I felt really miserable. Tried to make some sense of it all and the more I think about it, the more it hurts.

I though of grovelling, but I refuse to do that. Already done more than I think I should have.

How do I want this to work out. Man, I still don't know. Already starting to make the list of plusses and minusses about the whole deal so I guess I am finally accepting the inevitable and getting a move on in what I hope is the right decision.

I'm asking questions about what I do if she wants to come back and thinking about all the conditions I could impose.

Now I'm thinking the only few things I will miss is the cup of coffee on the bedside when I open my eyes. Easily fixed by getting my lazy ass out of bed ten minutes earlier and making my own damn coffee and feeding my grey. And man she could cook fine fare. Anything else has been MIA for so long now that I'm quite frankly wondering why we didn't do this sooner.

Is this a good sign? Am I more crazy than I thought I might be?

For her sake, I hope it works out the way she plans it.

Only thing is I fear for losing friendships with mates that are married. They seem to get suspicious about motives for visiting. Like I might run off with their wives or some junk. :o

Dudes, let me go on record as saying this: "Been there, done that. TWICE. If I come and visit, it's you I'm visiting, not your Mrs. She's all yours mate. The beer in the fridge on the other hand.... Now that, could be another story."

Posted

ER, that one came out all wrong. I have NEVER run off with anyone elses wife. EVER. I meant that after two failed attempts, obviously I make lousy marriage material. :(

You got married to her, you keep her. Bikes are far less complicated and hangovers go away the next day. :)

I guess what I'm really saying is your wives are safe.

I'll run off with your beer without hesitation. (Oh crap, now they never going to invite me around. Maybe this is why one loses married friends when one gets released on parole. They are all secretly worried about the beer tab. When you visit your mates with ball in tow, she's the calming influence. That steely stare that says "Buster, you have had ENOUGH!!!!")

Alternatively your mates might actually be hoping that you'll leave the beer and take their wife.

Now you making it very clear that you don't want the wife so the chances of you being invited over have diminished considerably.

BTW you shouldn't drink & ride unless you have one of those Power Bands :P :P :P

I think Kid, if I had money, I might have paid someone to take her away.

Maybe the fact that she left voluntarily is a huge blessing. I don't have to pay anyone any more. Who drinks and rides? Tha's really a dumbass thing to do. I know 'cause I did it a few weeks ago and it was a long ride hime.
