Well andy, I was going to allow you to take me for a martini, but when i read your assault against my Trek and its Ultegra i have decided against it!

I have never used campagnola so i dont know how it feels. have you used it? if not does that mean you are able to make such comments against it? Maybe i am reading to much into all this but you guys really enjoy putting each others stuff down. Like Trubie said, a bike is a bike. And i am sure that your top riders would win on whatever bikes they are given. But as another hub guy commented yesterday, i know nothing!

I am too scared to ride on the northern roads at any time of the day! Not so in the south!

And for the record, Northcliff is west! :P

You can tell Andy is a lawyer!

I think you are correct Hannah. If you think it gets rough here, you should see the body blows when we get together to ride SBR. Andy is a bit smaller than our tubby Trubie so there is plenty of blood flying around. Usually Andy's.

This is what inspires me to do 2hr35 laps of SBR. I need to get away form it all.

Seriously, this is just banter. You never saw any of the comments about my farm gate? I used to ride a 900 year old Peejou papnat (Peugeot Rapport) . Back in it's day, it was one of THE bikes, but I think that was around the time on Moses when he got lost in the desert for 40 years because he failed to ask for directions. :P

Then I got my hands on a Petini, and Big Ben stopped calling my bike a farm gate. That was the bike I did my 3hr 14 94.7 on last year.

Long story short, the Petini was a better ride, but comapred to the Trek SLR, it was like an ox wagon. I like the Trek, and Andy loved his Trek too. I always used to tease Andy and Trubie and call them the "Trekkers".

So don't feel too bad, I like them too. (At the end of one of the races last year, I was chatting to one of the hubbers who also rides a Trek and told him I would rathr push my Petini than ride a Trek. Truth be known, it is a nice bike.

Just like group sets. You get used to what you have. I used to have Sora (with the little lever in the side but it was an STI and big step up from down-shifters (Where the gear levers are on the down tubes of the bike) Then I got an upgrade to 9 speed Tiagra. The downshift lever was no longer on the side like it was with the Sora and it took some getting used to. I imagine the same can be said for Campy and Sram. You get used to it. Sram having only one lever to shift up or down would confuse me for a while. One click is up and two clicks is down. It can only be used by bright peeps like Andy because yours truly would spend a lot of time examining the riding surface from cose up. As in face plant or fall.

The thumb lever never bothered me with Sora, so I suppose it's just the same with Crappy (I mean Campy). :P You just get used to it. :)

Kid managed to change from Shimano to Crappy so I guess most peeps could manage. :P

I wasn't assaulting your Trek and your Ultegra. I was mere doing a comparative analysis of my Trek compared to my Specialized. Bear in mind that my Trek and Ultegra has been in two major crashes with just about no damage at all (only my Bontrager wheels were damaged). But naturally, the Specialized and SRAM will be different to the Trek and Ultegra because the Specialized is a carbon whereas the Trek is aluminium. The SRAM Red is also a higher spec groupset than the Ultegra. It is equivalent to Dura-Ace, which is higher than Ultegra. In effect you are comparing things which are not on the same level, to use the often repeated phrase "comparing apples to oranges". Of course the higher level will be better than a lower level. So it was not an assault on any bike, component set or anything. Just a simple comparison of apples and oranges.

not sure this is gonna help Andy - you just making it worse.

take the princess shopping and down a tequila or martini or two with her and she might consider forgiveness......

BTW that soapie (nicest smelling team in the peloton next year) star team LUX or Dove or something that the Schlecks are putting together are riding which bikes next year?

Trek if I remember correctly??

So next year you will be supporting the Spaz riding teams?

Mayeb a hub name change will be in order for you

Thank you , thank you, thank you your royal highness, you are such a welcome breath to this thread......

Normally its only Andy dissing our stuff, when you meet him you'll understand why - I think its just a Northern thing

Rest of us just trying to have fun -sometimes at each other's expense yes

yes yes yes about Northcliff.... man alive - where have you been all this time? :)

I am not dissing any stuff. Sure, Kid and I have friendly banter about stuff at times. But I have mentioned my true position of stuff. I will re-iterate it again. All equipment is fairly similar and it comes down to personal preference. You might like this and I like that. Yippeee for everyone!

Aren't you supposed to be in a meeting ??

@Hannah

Here are some facts.

We have agreed that Campag is the best, even your dad agreed on this one.

Then we agreed that Lightweight wheels are probably the best, Andy even

We have also agreed that Italian frames (made in China) are the best, you fancy a Pinarello, Trubie rides a Pinarello, I change bikes too often but I do have a Bianchi which is undercover at this stage. Andy has a Spaz bike but there's a very good chance that he'll be on a Pinarello with Campag in 2011......watch this space.

If you unsure rather laugh.

I'm sure your bike is great. We just rag each other for fun, it's a guy thing.

The quickest, eish now you starting to ask personal questions.

At this stage I'd say Trubie but Andy has had a tough year otherwise he might have been the quickest.

Just don't ask you is the slowest
