Sure does. Columbine has some real nasty bits. Nothing like Butchers though. Oh, and the place I'm going to has a stunning view of the nature reserve. And a pool. Maybe one day, we can do a ride, then go back and do a pooitjie afterwards. I do a mean ox tail or lambs knuckle pot.

Rietvlei works for me. I was going to suggest the circus but then we still have a long ride home afterwards. Also remembered that the soon to be Liewe Exie number 2 will be going with her friend on some "teddy run" to Nasrec, so I have no obligation to invite her for brekkie. Also means I can ride all day if need be. Maybe, instead of turning left at the circus we can go past the SBR and do one or two hills there. Nice looooong ride that will keep me on the streets for hours on end.

Aint life grand?

I never knew Agteros has a tail! No wonder he wants to stay clear the next two weekends. He is even riding 200km to get away!

First you so tired that you fall off your chair, now you want to ride all day. What about we ride from Xumbugs to SBR, half SBR and back to Rietvlei. Can't be that far and there is something for everyone! :D

Slave don't tell Andy about SBR, i would still like to live after the ride.

Could i please suggest Mugg and Bean as Rietvlei has to still milk the cows to get cheese once we arrive there.

PH i'm sure nobody would mind if you pop past afterwards and have a cup of coffee

Ahh Andy, clearly you missed a trick or two somewhere. Councilor, you realy need to take notes when the defence is on the stand and giving evidence. :P

I clearly recall saying I am resting today, tomorrow and Monday. That gives me 180 km to play around with. So if I do 40 on Saturday and 100 with you loons on Sunday, I still have an extra 40 km that I don't have to ride. Oh, and Wed I have a meeting that I can't cycle to, so there's another 60 km to play around with.

Plus, I am going to get a vit B shot sometime today. For lunch I have a loaf of bread and a big helping of my special macaroni cheese. (No added spanish steak though. Just a bit of bacon and some really tasty herbs.)

My suggestion for the weekend Andy is this: We do the first half of the short Nampak loop, turn right where the okies turned right last time (instead of going up the steps), then we follow the Fast one route as far as Henley, then we head back towards Rietvlei. I need some time to adjust the mind to those last two climbs in SBR. Right now, I'm just not knocked out on doing anything inside SBR. Of course, we can always wait at the gate while you go off and do them by yourself.

When we hit the outskirts of SBR, we'll release the homing pidgeon with Hummy's toasted cheese order so that it's ready when we get back there. I know the service there is like really poor, but it's such a lekker place to just park off and chill. Compared to the Steers at the petroport on the N14, the service at Rietvlei is stellar. :D

They managed to cock up my brekkie order for an hour and they still didn't get it right..... Dumbasses. In the end, I just took a far more expensive brekkie and ate that before I had to rush to man the water table. Frikking idjits. I almost missed the elites because of them. :(

Sounds good! I will make the hole in the glass for you then.

BigS, we have put you on the TT Start Sheet so you better be there! ;)

Without Nance, I'm afraid Big S will be missing in action. He plans to do about 6 or 7 hours on his "dirty dikwiel" on Saturday and then a few more hours on it on Sunday. Something about prep for the 24 hour at Rietvlei. ;) The man's hard core.

off topic...

I've decided to get myself another roadbike, gto get rid of the triple crank, and 8 speed Sora. the only reason for this is that I'll be needing a tribike by middle of next year, and need wheels that can be swopped/changed between the two bikes, and there ain't no such thing as a tribike with Sora on it. I've decided to go the Shimano route, not SRAM / Campagnola.

Spoke to Linden Cycles yesterday, and they have some 'old stock' bicycles retailing at just more than a 105 groupset price... guess I'll be going that route then. can then still get a tribike later next year, and not break the bank completely...

the idea is to be able to swop a power meter'd wheel between the two bike, two of those are a bit expensive

This might just happen and I'd like to keep this thread clean.

Did you speak to Ha-Ha? You can get an Italian Ralleigh for more than double the price.

Aah but I'm going for nice and cheap, not nice and bling

In any case, it will cost just less than 5x what I've paid for my current bike

What does a R...... a Ra...... a white frame go for? The price Ha-Ha quoted me on the Italian job (Frame only) sounded reasonable. It was just short of the price of a whole R.... R..... Ra..... white bike. (Seriuosly just kidding here dudes. The Bott was a good price.)

So like what happened to Andy?

Was it something I said or maybe my new deo?? Have he and HRH secretly gone on that wheel shopping spree / date thing?

Maybe he's like getting over the shock of me not wanting to venture into the SBR.

I plan to go there some day real soon, but it will be on foot with binocs because I want to spend a day there bird watching. :)

But that bike is....................well it's a .............it's white ???

White, just like Andy's bike

It sure is a nice colour.

No problems with the taste there .......

HB, it must be lunch hour for Andy. Have you noticed when they go for lunch, the "hour" is a decent "hour". And when they bill you, it's more like four hours for a ten minute consult.

No wonder they can afford 4 hour lunches and lobster to boot.

Edit:

Maybe he's at the judge /magistrate getting a restraining order against my deo. :(
