The "pile up" was hectic this morning. For the second day in a row the whole bunch went "short"

a mix of pros and holiday riders was not going to be a good mix. about a km from the split the centre of the bunch went down !

The people on the tandem went down hard and the one lady did not look good at all.

It started raining at the end of the ride so I take it was not a good day in the saddle for some.

Keep safe people and enjoy your riding this festive season.

Hope the injured get better soon.

eina......... there has been a lot of lie downs over last 6/7 weeks.

Be safe out there!!

Slave, now that the weight is down you can sort out the muscles. You could always go to gym with the Kid. That is sure to help with muscle toning. You could just be dropping to a normal weight which was put on due to stress of what you went through.

Btw, have you been eating Spanish beef that you have lost so much weight?

No spanish beef. Very little SA beef. My average weight is around 90 kg Andy. I think this is more of an ideal weight for me. When I became a bit more than a social / sometimes cyclist about two years ago I was close to 100 kg. The bike's favourite thing to say was "One at a time PLEASE."

I have lost weight because of stress. This is probably why I feel so flat and lethargic when I ride. Last weekend I tried to get up Camaro again and failed dismally. Just had no energy to do the climb.

So its raining in Alberton again.

Luckily we got our ride in this morning.

Heard there was a major crash on the short loop this morning. Hope those that fell are ok & recover quickly.

Today I suffered again on the torture machine, felt harder than yesterday but the computer said it was slightly easier.

What a welcome back weekend, 190km.

Kid, that epic ride on saturday will come in handy when racing starts in the new year.

Yesterday we were "storm runners" as opposed to the "storm chasers" on discovery channel :(

we were a group of 11 that headed out south towards 3 rivers. In Meyerton we realized we were heading straight into a serious storm (7:00 in am , lightning, cold wind .. etc), we turned around and rode like maniacs to try get away from the storm. Had a tailwind all the way home and I cant remember when last I rode that fast for that long on a training ride. Got to within 200m from home when the rain came down.

Nice ride this morning with Trubie even though it was windy.

@Slave

We still on for Comaro + Klipriver next week ?

We are! just refresh my memory as to dates. I need to pace myself with my new gift, which will facilitate the Slave tradition of Christmas coffee on this special day. Coffee and Bells. (Vitamin S) Yeeeeeeehaaaaaa.post-4220-0-69795800-1292914479.gif

Feeling a tad tired this morning because I had a late night. So lotsa post-4220-0-89989400-1292914576.gif today. Damn good commute this morning despite the wind.

:stupid:

And you can get up the climbs without feeling like you about to die! :P

But I love getting to the top of a climb in a lactic haze.

Kid, if it was so easy, I would do it. In fact it's so simple I have done it thousands of times. It is something I am planning. Just looking for the right motivation and I need to have the correct mind set. :P

Getting to the top in a lactic haze is fine, but getting to the top feeling like your lungs have exploded is a different story I suspect.

You want the right motivation? That is easy! DC2011 :D

25th, no due to respect for the day

26th yes, probably 3:30 or more

I'm cycling to Brits where the family will get together for the day. It is either drive / run / walk / hike / cycle to get there. I chose my mode of transport thumbup1.gif

The 25th is just an arb date. Doing races on Sunday? Not picking a fight, just a consistency check.

The date is actually not that arb - old pagan festival on which our ancestors decided to celebrate a more Christian event, which non-believers(an others) have turned into an orgy of money-making during which the true meaning of the day got lost.

The date I remember was the 27th but Trubie advised that I should change that date because I'll be tired from the previous day's riding.

Now I read that he wants to do 3:30 +

So we'll make it on the 28th, you can join us at 5am for the south loop & then after that we'll go up Comaro & Klipriver.

Like that you'll also have a day to recover from your Vitamin S.
