Who are you ?

Do you have some spare "Spanish steak" for me ?

Its a TTT not just individual so there is some recovery room, usually there are 9 at the start and 5 finish together, its the steps that break the guys, but thats where I pull ;-) hills are my thing. Its more like 45km/h LOL, as I said its pure pain, nothing can take away the suffering except getting to the finish quickly.

Spanish Steak LOL, only one thing in the bottle friend 32Gi :-)

Even in a group of 9 that's very fast - IMO.

One day if you have some spare time let me know your secret to being a hill billy, all hills hurt me. I've done the steps (in a group) at about 34km/h and I seriously huffed & puffed.

Never tried 32Gi, lots of mixed feedback here on the hub but I would seriously need something my stronger than low Gi carbs, maybe a drip flowing straight into the blood.

Huge respect !!!

Maybe one day when I'm BIG I'll be able to do that.

To be honest for a TT of an hour no energy drink needed, its pure glycogen nothing will feed u quick enough :-), not even a drip.

Then there's no hope for me, I was seriously hoping the drip would help.

Are you the guy that developed/distributes 32Gi ?

Posted

To be honest I am the co-founder of the company, my background is nutrition and sports, and I was a guinea pig for testing products for years, so I am intimately familiar with a lot out there and the impact each thing has on the body, under different circumstances, I saw something in 32Gi when I first tested it for a friend who brought in the carb from overseas. Once I realized the benefit of it, we worked to develop the drink. So yip not the distributor, but I guess the good thing about me involved with the product is I came from a Powerlifting to MTB background into road cycling and triathlon. So I am familiar with the needs of most athletes in a range of sports from short to endurance distance, and I personally understand the headaches and problems associated with the athletes of today. When people talk to me about their problems I personally understand what they are going through because I have been there. Also I believe completely that unless your training and nutrition is down pact, nothing in the world is going to give you a miracle boost, I am very much a follower of natural nutrition across the board. Anyway on this board no pushing 32Gi ;-), I just am looking for some people to train with LOL. I often go out on long TT by myself, but these days its getting a little dangerous, I was attacked last year on the steps which explains why I fly up there these days when with a group, when not highway and airport road, dont want to get caught again. Still nursing 8 cracked ribs, so no pushing over the limit currently. Anyway if u ever see an old man on a P2C attempting to ride, its me ;-).

@MDW

You are the guy I'm thinking of.

You mates (in some form) with Kieran ?

Don't think an old man can fly up the steps at that speed, maybe it's all that leg strength from you Power lifting days.

I know Kieran well.

To be honest I used to weigh 112kg, today I weigh 67kg, I have kept a lot of leg power and dropped my mass significantly so my PTMWR (Power to Mass Weight Ratio) on a hill is good. I can battle for hours to keep up on a flat road with some of the guys but bring a mountain my way, thats all I wait for lol.

You see it's a small world.

67kg is seriously light, I used to weigh 82kg and I was down to 72kg before the holidays started, now I'm a little heavier

So all the cardio you do/done has eaten all that muscle mass away ?

You should go for a ride with Andy, he's also got a thing for hills.

The only problem is that he is from the north and looks down on us southerners, Trubie & I also p!ss on his battery often which probably doesn't help.

He's been out twice to ride in the south and loved it.

So how was the riding down south this morning? I cannot comment on my morning bike ride as I never went past the CBD, so technically it will be completely off-topic :D

That does sound good! Are you turning into turning into a regular, or an exceptional, racing snake Indigo?
