You'll see if you find the bike you love it will live inside' date=' and you'll find yourself just touching it everytime you walk past. This is also normalBig%20smile[/quote']

Thank god, it is not just me! I have to show my wife this post ASAP!  Big%20smile

Very normal hyper- in fact its abnormal not to touch all your bikes at least once a day. You don't have to just touch- if you don't give them the occasional admiring glance you must be weird. Or one of THEM.

I had never ridden a mountain bike just over 2 years ago. Started with a club ride on a Game Special with no shocks at all (R700 bike). Loved the feeling of being outdoors. Did this on 3 successive weekends and was bitten. Then was persuaded to hand over R7000 for a second hand Giant NRS (full suspension) which was a fantastic bike in its day and that decision cemented my addiction. Had I not gone for the better bike (probably worth 3 times what I paid), my experience would not have been the same.

My advice is to get a good second hand bike where the price has dropped but not the value. Get an experienced friend to check it out.

Hi Paule' date='

I am selling my used GT Avalanche 1.0 disc. check out the link to the post:

Not sure what size you after? How tall are you?

I'm 1.8m and 75kg.

I think I will definitely rather take the second hand route. I've had a look at your Avalanche and also at the one that Goose1 is selling and they both seem like very good offers, but I think I will perhaps have to wait until the end of Jan before making a purchase.

In the meantime what I'll do is to go down to Rietvleifarm this weekend or early next year and see if I can rent a bike for the day.
