Slave2love: these days road chains and MTB chains are the same thing (9speed 105 is the 9speed LX chain - same chain in the same box)same with powerlinks too. Obviously you need a 10speed powerlink with 10speed chains. but MTB and Road are the same thing these days( oh wait I think I said that already!)

Only differance is you dont get 10spd or 11spd mtb chains, so you will only find them for road chains for those speeds. The rest are all the same.

Thanks guys.

I'm still on an 8 speed rear wheel and an even older frame.

Was looking at CRC and it looks like they only have 9 and ten speed chains.

Hopefully can get a power link from LBS for8 speed.

I saw the power links on the CRC website. They look very different to the "master links" we used to use, but yeah, I get the picture.

Thanks again.

ROFLMFAO.

Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrr. FTF, you chopper. I can only ride the thing for so many hours a day. I have limited stamina and still need a distraction to keep me in the garage for a few more hours.

I ride so that I can spend hours on end in the garage faffing about with the bike. Imagine how suspicious it would look if I spent hours faffing about with the bike and never went for a ride.

That would raise more than just an eyebrow. I'd get a dam good smack in the cake-hole too.

Haven't you heard, two hours on the road is four hours of faffing. Keeps me out of the house for days on end boet.

BTW, because of this equation, I have been banned from riding on Christmas day. Because I ride for four hours and then spend the rest of the day coopedup in the garage. (That is when I'm nor raiding the 'fridge.)

Anybody know of a shop that will:

1) Have 2 or more gold SRAM powerlinks in stock

2) Willing to post them to me at a reasonable cost

3) That is all.

Thanks!

( I had one, and they work very well. Unfortunately I lost half of it, so it is not nearly as effective as it was.)

Thanks Slave, I thought it would come to that. Dead

I only need the links, so it seems a waste to pay R300 postage for R40 worth of spares. I guess this gives me an excuse to buy some other stuff I don't really need...

Why don't any SA shops keep these in stock? Seems to me that it is something that will sell well.
