Anyone out there perhaps know how one can clear the ODO of the polar CS600?

<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Why do I have this nasty gut feeling that one can?t clear / reset it?  And if it should be true (which I hope it is not) why in the world would polar not want you to reset your odo?

I need to start 2009 with 0 kms J

Excellent!  LOL<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Isn?t that what another dude did the other weekend when he saw mr puffed up adder next to him in tokai?  Found the reverse gear on his bike and that it was indeed a super fast gear as well!!

In jonkers I once did a bunny hop backwards (with my hands on my saddle) and pushed the bike into the snake.  And then ?Eve? told the snake what she thought of him..screwing up her single track rhythm?

but how about that odo?..

this will do a factory reset

1. Reset computer numbers first:
1.a hold all four buttons in for 2 seconds until the screen goes blank
2. In quick succession while the screen is still blank, push in the lower left and then the upper right button
3. hit the lower right button twice until "Restore Default Settings" appears
3.a Select this and tell it twice that yes, you really, really want to do it.

A factory reset? wow, isn?t that a bit hardcore?!

<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I am like in not going to enter all my data and setting again for all my bikes and all my likes and dislikes.

This sucks.

Can?t I fit it to a drill and hit the reverse button?

Hi nameless man.   I do this reset totals once every month and it does not affect my odo.  It stays the same...

?Mr Figg? could not conclusively answer this question at the argus expo earlier this year.

From http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/Manuals/CS600/ch06.html it seems as if it might not be possible:

Totals

Select File > Totals

Totals

includes cumulative information recorded during training sessions since

the last reset. Use the Total values file as a seasonal or monthly

counter of training data. The values are updated automatically when

exercise recording is stopped.

Use UP or DOWN to scroll through the following information:

  • Bike 1 distance (Cumulative distance with bike 1; can be reset)

  • Bike 2 distance

  • Bike 3 distance

  • Total distance (Cumulative distance; can be reset)

  • Total duration

  • Total calories

  • Total exerc. count

  • Total ascent

  • Total odometer (Cumulative distance; cannot be reset)

  • Reset totals

To reset total values

Select File > Totals > Reset totals

Select the value you wish to reset in the menu and confirm with OK. Select Yesto confirm resetting. The deleted information cannot be retrieved. Select No to return to the Reset menu.

Oh, OK, you can reset the Odo in your Polar Protrainer - when you download your unit, go to your roadbike, click on Odo and retrieve - then reset to nil and click on the IRDa button to beam back to your unit - voila!
