Christie Posted December 16, 2008 Share Some things I wondered about:1. Status of the carbon crank? 2. Prices of the electric gruppo?
turtlek Posted December 16, 2008 Share Carbon crank was just a publicity stunt to make the new 7900 a bit more lusted after and eventually went out as a bad idea or thats what i thought
steven Posted December 16, 2008 Share Shimano delayed the production of Carbon Cranks as the new 7900 range was introduced and Shimano were not happy with Tests done and it would have been pointless to produce an old design 7800 looking Carbon Crank.Shimano use Cold Forging and Hollow Tec II to produce their Cranks and find it to be lighter, stiffer than Carbon howeverwith their R&D department working 24/7 i am sure we will be seeing newphoto-samples soon. The DI2 we received samples of last week and had them on Super Cycling. The prices are extremely high and we will only have stocks mid April 09.The Shifting performance is unbeleivable and we will have a Test Bike by the end of next week ready to be tested. rgds sm www.coolheat.co.za
Christie Posted December 16, 2008 Share I think I should stay far away from DI2 - I'm afraid if I ride it, I would want it!
Cruxpearl Posted December 16, 2008 Share Aren't you supposed to be building some kind of TT Bike or something?
