Nutrition for diabetes?!?!

Antoni

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

In some unfortunate events I turned out to be diabetic. I have been using USN's Carbo Fuel and PVM Energy Bars, and as far as I know it's not good for my blood sugar. Is there any other diabetes that can assist me in what products they use for carb loading, training and in race nutrition? I'm sure there's some stuff other than raisins and freakin peanut butter sarmies or whatever weird and uncomfortable stuff dieticians, who cycle oh so often, suggests?!

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Antoni

I use a drink that comes in powder form called Enerforce. It is made of dehydrogenated mealie flour and sweetened by artificial sweeteners. It is made in Westernarea. Their telephone number is 011 753 1406.

Are you a type 1 or type 2?

In any case it is not the end of the world, just a change in lifestyle.

Also go to www.gifoundation.co.za There are various books you can order, food lists that rate the Glaecemic Index of various food, they even have brands of food. One book that may be of value is "Eet Slim vir Sport" It is available in English as well.

You must also see a dietician to learn and know what you can eat. There are lists of dieticians on the website and you can make an appointment with one closest to you. Not doing it can change your condition and that amy be life threatening.

Antoni..... tipe I diabetes is gevaarlik as jy dit nie reg benader nie. Stick by die reels en jy sal ok wees. As jy 'n tipe I (Insulien afhanlike) diabeet is glo ek jy weet teen hierdie tyd al wat en hoe om dinge te doen. Indien nie moet jy DRINGENDE voorligting kry...... vinnig!!!!!!!
