I have only recently started mountain biking again after taking a break for a few years and to me it seems like madness to put the same tire on front and back. Guess I need to get used to it though.I can remember in the 90's all the best tyres were front and back specific and you bought them in sets. I am thinking of:IRC MythosWTB VelociraptorPanaracer Fire XC (Think that was the name. Could be wrong though)

LOL you sound just like me - a has-been from the 90's making a comeback.

I do enjoy reminiscing about the good ol' days.

I remember the Panaracer tyres, they were the first to come out with a white (or more like cream) tyre.

I think the Fire XC was their lightweight 1,95 inch racing tyre.

In those days your rear tyres had wide side-to-side knobs down the centre and the front tyres had large knobs pointing forward.

Strange coincidence that you commented on my post. We actually met each other on Tuesday night. I was the guy riding the black GT Zaskar with all the gold bits.

Great tyres' date=' maybe even the best I've ridden to date. Used the Gravity and now onto a set of Mountain Kings, truly a wicked tyre ;)

Got a set of Mountain King's 2.2 UST and they are terrific but pricey with the RRP at R675 each. Would definitely run a 2.4 up front, 2.2 back though. Recently bought some WTB Wolverine 2.2 tubed and they are also very good, quite keen to try out the UST version.

Hehe, its a small world.

These Hub nicknames confuse the hell out of me. I probably ride with many more hubbers and don't even know it.

Hey, we should have some Hub stickers printed with our nicknames to stick on our bikes.
