Morning Hubbers

could someone tell me the best way to set my wheelsize on my bike computer. I cant seem to get the distances right .

sunday i rode 100 km tour medallion .

pc showed 91,79km almost 8 km short.

i have calculated the wheel size by taking the circumference of the wheel and used that(2103 mm) the owners manual says 2133mm.

any suggestions .

I have a ciclosport hac4 pro plus

thanks

Hagar,

First of all, the Medallion was 95Km.  That is from start line to finish line.  Not mats to mats.  I made a mistake to stop my Edge just after the finish line.

I used to make a mark on the garage floor (with the valve stem at 6 o'clock) and slowly roll the wheel forward until the valve stem is at 6 o'clock again.  Difference between markings about wheel diameter.  You can also subtract a small amount to compensate for tyre pressure.

Easiest of all, get  a Garmin Edge.  GPS technology and no further worries.

double check what wheel size you entered into your ciclosport hac4 pro plus. If you made a mistake and entered 2013 (instead of 2103) this would explain the difference. At 2013mm for 456 wheel revolutions you get 91.79km. At 2103mm you get 95.89km which seems to be the correct distance as per the Garmin
