I have the following questions Why does it take so long for licenses to be issueD?Why is there so many mistakes? Wrong categories and photos.Why is the system so user unfriendly. Why not rather enter a search for your club rather than select from this list?Why can you not make any corrections to data entered?Why is the addressing so pathetic? What about people staying in complexes?What about postal addresses? Not everybody make use of street delivery? How did this procurement process worked?Have this company ever done something like this before?Were CSA sure about the spec they wanted?Why does it take more than two years to try and develop such an elementary system? This system just add a whole lot of costs to clubs with distribution of licenses and not to mention the many pissed off people phoning clubs about licenses which takes for ever to be issued. I have applied for full licenses on behalf of a number of people. No forms were signed, etc. Is this in line with the UCI requirements? Do not think so. CAN YOU NOT GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER???

They are doing as much as they can to sort out the previous 'system' and already it is far better this year than it was last year. Give them a chance, things are moving in the right direction!

Cant say the process enthalled me either, I am moving soon, so my contact details will change, dont know how I will do it., maybe I wont bother.!

Now that I think of it, I went into myrace.co.za through a link my club emailed me. Don't know if that made a difference.

Napalm Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The problem with myrace is that they're thorough. Once you're registered and enter an event, they actually check facts. Try to enter events on other systems - you want to race with the u16 ladies? No problem. You want to enter for the next vets race, even though you're 18? No problem. It's useless having data, if it's *** data. Then you might as well return to paper and pencil. Why is the system so user unfriendly. Why not rather enter a search for your club rather than select from this list? The user experience isn't what it should be, but there's very good reasons for myrace doing things. The club data have never been verified - this year is the first. What that means is that a province will first need to approve a club, then the CSA. If you're club isn't listed, it's because your club chairman is a lazy bastard. At least with the new system, there's an accounting system, so that swimming pools doesn't spring up all around the country.
Pixie Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Pissed off....oh yes, that is an understatement.I think the entire situation is pathetic, I cannot enter any races for February because my licence is "MISSING"I completed all the necessary documentation early in December, still no licence, when my club made an enquiry, missing was the answer.People that sent the licence forms in the same time as mine already have their licences.....

Twee van my klub lede het op presies dieselfde dag aansoek gedoen by die sekretaresse van die klub. Hulle aansoeke is direk na mekaar gedoen. Een het sy lisensie Maandag ontvang, die ander kan hare glad nie op gespoor kry nie. Dit maak nie sin nie. Gister, na vele oproepe na My Race, het ons tou op gegooi, want niemand antwoord die telefoon nie.Ouch!!!!Word sekere lisensies vinniger gedoen omdat die name "bekend" klink?

Your application has been received and you are now registered on the national cycling database. As of the 15th January some 4500 online license applications have been received and the process of approving and distributing cards is well under way. All confirmed applications will be notified by e-mail or SMS, so please wait to receive this confirmation before "nagging" your club secretary for your card.
